The last one is excellent, nice shot and nicely post-processed, so well done on that one. Sun flare can be a nice effect in some pictures, but to be honest I don't think it worked in the first picture. The 2nd picture doesn't do much to me, maybe would have been better if you took it from the side rather than directly at the woman. From the side you can see both faces, now you're looking at the back of the child. Also the background is tilted and could have been a bit more blurred. The couple in the background is distracting.

Last shot is nice, not too sure if the tinting works, though that could be the grey border, I'd try it with a black border instead.

I like the first one but I'm not sure why... There are some lovely elements in it, the holding hands, and the reflection of it, and the man holding the flowers.

As per Dimy, the second one does nothing for me. Colours, content, lighting and composition are uninteresting!

    You're improving anyways Jools.

First one does not do it for me at all, I really dont like the sun flare!

The second one is pretty boring too Im afraid!

But the third one, is definately the best.

Its a really nice shot, but I agree with Fajitas about the tinting, mess around with it a bit more I suggest to see what result is best.

Thanks for the comments and advice as usual. On the question of me getting better they all predate the ones I had a roasting for. So maybe I'm getting worse!

Maybe its your content that's changing for the worse. They're all portraits, your other shots are urban, but lacking people.

I think Fajitas has it spot on, when I looked through your photo.net portfolio, it was the pictures with people - and especially kids - that I felt were the ones that stood out to me. I already left you a comment on the first picture on there anyway :)

I love the third one. The tinting is just a little bit strong though.
