I chose He-man because it was just the business, the characters were cool and that, I just really liked it, I had the sword and everything and I used to scream By the Power of grey skull ....etc everywhere I went and I am a girl. Then they changed it to the new adventures of He-man or something sh*t like that and it lost all of its appeal.

I loved them all except "other". Never really got into that show.

I've watched a few recently (MASK, Bravestar, HeMan, Jayce and Transformers) and it'd be fair to say they weren't quite as good as I remembered :) In fact, 'total rubbish' would be another way of describing them.

Thundercats! Transformers were a close second though....

From that list, I'd say Thundercats or He-Man. That poll should've been multiple-choice! :)

Also, Mysterious Cities of Gold, which I'm currently getting through! ;)

Nah! Multiple choice would have been too easy!! I like people who can make decisions, especially snap decisions, they're the best!:D

Transformers was my favourite but interestingly, Teenage Mutant Ninja/Hero turtles would have been second and I didn't even put them in the list!!

I also loved Dino-riders but probably because as a kid I was big into Dinosaurs.

Out of those in the list, Thundercats. But I also liked...*cringe*...Ulysses and Mysterious Cities of Gold.

Was that also known as Ulysses 31? Why do I have that recollectionin my head? Was it something to do with the 31st Century?

Interestingly, no-one seemed to like Marshall Bravestar, sight of the eagle, ears of the wolf, schlong like a horse...or something like that :D I actually thought that was pretty good, but I guess when you're a kid you're not too fussy or critical!

Yep, same one (though I thought it was just called Ulysses on British tv when I was a kid, can't quite remember back that far!)

It's the theme tune that stick's in my head more than anything... "Ulyseeeeee-eee-eee-eee-eeesss!" :D

    Thunder, thunder, thunder, thunderCATS... thundercats!!
I chose this one generally because it just kept me entertained when it was on (as is the purpose of such programming gems) loved wily kit and wily kat, they were forever getting themselves into trouble and of course snarf, thought he was really funny when I was a kid

My favourite was Dogtanian and the Muskahounds. It was brilliant :)

A close second would have to be Thundercats though.

Oh man, I loved all of them. MASK, Jayce & The Wheeled warriors, Ulysees 31, Dogtanian! Load.. I wasn't a big fan of bravestar, but it has nostalgic sentimental value for sure.

Another one was the mysterious cities of gold. I eventually found all episodes of it. It's as great as I remember. :D

I'm afraid I don't remember some of them.

Out of the choices, I'd definitely go Thundercats. Can't even remember any of the episodes but I do remember I loved it.

    Also loved Dungeons & Dragons.

Don't know if I could choose between Thundercats and He-Man!!! Then again Cringer was so cool, I preferred him to battle cat.

definitely Thundercats from the ones on the list it was far cooler than any of the others, but my all time favourite has to be Danger Mouse

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,088 ✭✭✭✭_Kaiser_

Transformers ftw.. though it kinda lost it in the post movie season 3 and 4.. I missed Megatron :(

I would've watched all of those to some degree, but I have to admit I only rated Thundercats as average.

Does anyone recall watching Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea?

    Synopsis
The story concerns a fictional lost city, Arkadia (named after the poetical fantasy land of Arcadia). This ancient civilization escaped a Great Cataclysm by relocating deep within the Earth, and was not aware life continued on the Earth's crust. Hoping to keep them safely away from the surface, their elders sealed all records of their past in the city's Archives. They survive by the light of an artificial sun, the Tehra, but it is dying, and something must be done. With no other options, a few Arkadian children defy the law and enter the Archives. Armed with information about the world above, they create a messenger, Arkana, and send her to find help.

She encounters two siblings from the surface, Matt and Rebecca, and brings them back through the underground strata to save Arkadia. They travel in a living spaceship called Tehrig, along with Spartakus (a wanderer) and Bic and Bac (a couple of pangolins)
It had similar mystical/mythological themes to The Mysterious Cities of Gold - both made in France. Very unusual cartoon.

I think this was probably "Once Upon a Time...Life" This was one of a series of French cartoons, translated into English and many other languages. Class!

Wasn't Mysterious Cities of Gold Japanese translated into French and then dubbed into English?
