    Your camera takes good pictures...

Yeah the free icecream was quite nice, I gorged myself completely. Shame it melted so quickly though..Today was the perfect day for it too.

I was just about to say exactly same as pet. Your camera is good, and it was the perfect day for free ice cream.

Ooooh, pretty pictures. The blossom on the trees looks like little scoops of vanilla ice cream.

I had chocolate therapy for the first time ever, but the impact was lessened by yesterday's chocolate cake.

If it weren't for the sign, the third picture would make next year's prospectus!

Yep, I also thought 'nice camera' when I saw them. Niall (ents officer) organised it.

The Ents officer in UCD must have been busy too. They had the free ice-cream today.

The photographer takes good pictures, the camera is incidental.
    (A Nikon D70s I see... :P)

No. With the newer digital cameras (such as the Nikons and Canon SD500s), the camera's processor does all the work - light metering, focusing, focal distance, etc etc, so all the photographer has to do is point and shoot.

It wasn't the composition of the shots that I liked, it was the clarity, efficiency of focus, and proper saturation of colours, all of which are up to the processor and not the photographer.

You're quoting the model of a digital point and shoot, which processes all in-camera.
The camera used here was a Nikon D70s according to exif, which (unless used in green box mode) does not act as a point and shoot. The camera was used in aperture priority (assuming as all shots are F10, ~the sweet shot of the lens).
The photographer is actively involved in choosing the shutter and/or aperture, along with any contrast/saturation boost if it is wanted (which yes is indeed processed in-camera).
Basically - since he was using a digital SLR in (more than likely AV mode) at an aperture and ISO that would create least noise possible with the sharpest photos, still keeping in mind DOF (aperture determined), and saturation (ISO determined).
Thus, these constitute good photos *mostly* due to the photographer's skill, and only a small portion has to do with the quality of the camera.

So, this camera takes good photos too?

    LOL

Whatever the reason for those excellent photos, they are still excellent.

Indeed. I stand corrected! Thus, kudos to Jonny for the great photos (and not his camera)..
