I have a few holidays left to burn at work, so I'm making a long weekend of it over the bank holiday and weather permitting I plan to go out to Clifden for a day or two - what is goodly to see and photograph in and around the town?

I basically plan to take photos until I fall over drooling insensibly from sunstroke.

    Cheers :D

Oh I've been to Clifden in 2003, Connemary is pretty nice...especially if you like Sheep... loads of 'em! :) There's the Connemara National Park nearby which is nice... and Kylemore Abbey:

Pretty bad picture, but I only had a 3MP Kodak point&shoot at the time :D

Oh and found one from the sheep I took there as well, it's one of my favorite pictures I took with that camera:

The Skye road is a must.. some absolutely fantastic views of the coastline but I'd say if you're looking for something to shoot, then you find that it all looks the same after a while..

There is a nice walk around the grounds of Kylemore Abbey and down by the lake as someone has already said.

The road towards Cleggan and and Letterfrack and beyond heading north towards Mayo have some fantastic scenery.

Might be worth taking a boat out to Inishboffin from Cleggan and walkign towards the far end of the island, you can get some fantastic shots of the other islands like inishshark that arent inhabitated anymore apart from a few sheep. Have a look here, ignoring the typical touristy shots that is :D

If its a good day, the sunsets are amazing :)
