I am getting very cautious of my current state of fitness, and am planning to take the bull by the horns this summer, for me the first step is getting a good set of weights, could someone please give me advise on where to go, like where would you get good quality weights for a reasonable price

If you are just an average guy of fairly average size then Argos weights are fine. Get the 50 kg York CAST IRON dumbbell/barbell set for around 75 quid. Then get 2 x 10 kg extra plates if and when required for 22.99.

Make sure not to go near the overpriced Reebok chrome weights or the total crap vinyl weights.

weights seem to be quite cheap in starfitness arnotts-2 euro per kilo, they have olympic sets and standard york bars and dumbells and the staff are quite knowlegable about the fitness game
