Want to know what others think of this theory, it seems bulletproof...i reckon if you kiss a girl on 3 consecutive occasions you go past the point of no return - its either make a clean break now or be prepared for relationship territory. However, 2 consecutive kisses is fine if interrupted by a new person, after which the process begins again...

Its not that you absolutley HAVE to go into relationship territory, but thats the vibe I'd be getting if a bloke stuck his tongue down my throat everytime he saw me. But then again it could be a bit of harmless fun!

No, no, they're RULES. That means if you kiss someone three times you HAVE to hook up with them, regardless of the screaming weeping crippled trainwreck of a relationship that might follow.

Oh, how do the area code rules fit into this? If the third kiss is in a different timezone does that nullify everything?

Exactly! ... I was seeing someone for about three weeks before I realised it was a 'relationship' ... despite the fact we were seeing each other about 3/4 times a week, and probably kissing a lot more often than three times on each occassion! It all depends on circumstances imo.

Yeah, that rule (rough guideline maybe) seemed to exist when I was in secondary school but luckily it seemed to be rescinded by the time I got to college.

3 times is really when men start getting confused, and rightly so goddammit !! stop paying attention to this kind of stuff and you could be knee deep in nappies before you know it , or at best getting the cold silent treatment for forgetting a brithday you never heard of... or worse ... the aniversary of when ye met

On a similar note a mate of mine has seen some chick three times in the last five weeks. He was started talking to me about her this morning and told me that out of the three "dates" he still hasn't kissed her. Know I think this chick is taking him for a ride. Free Cinema, theather and dinner. He says she's just shy. He also puts it down to a age factor she's 17 and he's 21. I think he's being made a fool of, but don't have the hearth to tell him. Someone tell me I'am wrong

thats total bull.
maybe with teenages it exists but not in the older years like in college.
there were many guys in college i would kiss 5 -10 times but it would all be in the name of fun, you know by the way someone reacts if you are going into relationship territory. like if they want to "talk" more than just kiss or if they want to "meet you" in the corridor outside C116 after 2nd lecture the next day..then..and only then...can you start to worry because yes, you might be entering...a relationship.

i think if you live by rules like that, you probably wont get very far in any relationship.
