Anyone use Verritas Backup Exec with Exchange 2003 ???

    Howdy All, I'm just wondering what sort of throughput other people get when backing up Exchange Mailboxes.

    I'm using Verritas backup Exec for Windows Servers with my LTO2 tapes/tape drives.

    The slooooowest throughput in all of my backups are the Exchange mailboxes - 74Mb per minute.

    Everything else is way up there - 926Mb per minute on other servers, 824Mb per minute on the rest my Exchange server (excluding mailboxes).

    Are you using an AV solution on the Exchange mailbox?

    Yes, Trend Scan Mail For Exchange for the emails and Trend Server Protect for the server itself, same as the other servers.

    Scan Mail was just installed a few weeks ago. The Exchange backups seem to take the same amount of time afterwards.

    So you can rule out the AV product as causing problems then I take it?

    I reckon so. I'm not even sure I have a problem - maybe Backup Exec always give low throughput for Exchange2003 mailboxes ????
