I'm headin away for a year long trip in 3months time, one of our stops is Perth but only for four days. It's the one place on our trip that i've not much looked into.

So has anyone any recommendations of what to definitely see or do whilst there ?

    Thanks

Go the the Pinacles north of Perth, a nice trip to Fremantle, take a trip to Rottnest Island to see the Quokka's, south of Perth down along the coast is nice, & there's giant trees with a bridge built between them at the tree tops, quite cool, trip to Cottelsoe beach, watch Aussie Rules in Subiaco

As I think of more, I'll add it here.

It's an absolutely beautiful place, you'll have a fab time, lucky sod!!!

    Hey,

Lucky i was just surfing this forum and i came across your post. I have just arrived in Sydney after 2 weeks in Perth and i had a great time. Myself and a friend were staying in hostels, one which was very good was Billabong on Beaufort St. Stay there! What we did :

Western Australian Aquarium : a 15min drive or a train journey.Brilliant way to spend a good half day, u can see huge sharks, turtles, stingrays swim around u in a underwater tunnel plus jellyfish, nemos, sea snakes etc. If you ring probably a day in advance u can swim with the sharks for $105 which is very good value! a Once in a lifetime experience. Also u can see sealions being trained..a great day. $25 per adult. Would need to be there at 12pm, the latest.

The Perth Zoo : think it was $16 and u could spend the day there. Lions, Tigers, Spider Monkeys, Kangaroos, Elephants, Rhinos, 4 metre snakes, spiders, bats, baboons, penguins..the list is endless. We spent 5 hours here and we just about saw everything. Its closes at 5pm so get there early and u can see feedings and zoo keeper talks!

Kings Park : if you wanna relax for the day then go to Kings Park, beautifully landscaped and brilliant views of Perth. Just stroll around, enjoy the scenery.

Rockingham Dolphins : Without doubt the best day we had out there. We actually swam with dolphins! for $175 u can go out on a boat and u snorkel above dolphins that are feet underwater. You see them swimming around you and it is amazing. We had 6/7 dolphins around us at one stage including a baby one which is rare. An amazing experience, you can even hear them talking under the water. If your a decent swimmer then ur good enough to go in with them.

Perth is a beautiful city, really clean. Its well spread out and transport around the city is free on CAT buses. We also went to the Perth Mint and caught the Western Eagles in the Aussie Rules League. Subiaco is a cool wee town also, plus you always have the cinema.

Were both 23 and we went out most nights. Northbridge is the place to be. Good pubs and Nightclubs there..i recommend Black Bettys on a Weds Night and the Shed is good. In the city centre there are loads of cool pubs, but your looking at about $8 a drink in there.

Perth is a great city, i loved it! you will have a great 4 days there.

Enjoy, now for me to find accomodation and a job! :)
