    :(
At least I got further then Bruce Spring.

Can someone tell me how does it go from 3 minute wait at 9.01 to
"sorry there's a problem please return to main even page" and of course you're in the back of the Q.

    Aghh
That's 7 months of grief off the missus now.

He has the 10th free in his diary so possibly an extra night? Can't understand why they didn't do Lansdowne for him, he'd have easily sold it.

I had standing tickets on my screen available at 9.03 - went back to change to seated and then nothing gone within about 45 seconds

Tried the www.ticketmaster.co.uk site at approx 0918 though and they had the 3rd date on sale before the .ie site (had both .ie and .co.uk open on 2 diff screens) so managed to get 2 standing for 3rd date - by then I didnt care if I had to stand, sit or hover once I got them!!!

Not good form that they were on sale in the UK site before the Irish one, it was definitly about 5 mins before they then showed on the .ie site after going up on the uk one (unless my mind played tricks on me!)

In the queue with 5 mins wait at 901. Then told to change my selection then the were all
gone. The missus was in tears but thank god I saw the extra Sat date :D

it's pretty crap......I was lucky enough, she was trying from just before nine and got nowhere - again was in the queue and it kicked out.......I told her I'd continue trying and got lucky as the site was just changing at 9:24 with the added date, got in straight away.........most expensive tickets I've ever bought and I'm not even going........such is life - hope you all enjoy it....

Was trying to get tickets online since 9. Nothing happening and all hope was lost till the extra date on Saturday night was added. Selected tickets and got to the ticket purchase page. :D Submitted my payment details and still didn't get the tickets. What is the deal?
I get offered tickets and then they disappear. Was less than 30 seconds paying for them and they disappear. So annoyed I can't concentrate on anything else.

I was refreshing away from about 8.50. Got 4 tickets for Thursday bang on 9.00 with no problem. Got 2 for Saturday after doing a search on "George". The Irish site didnt list the extra gig properly for a few minutes even though they had announced it but I got them through the search. Bish bash bosh! Ingenuity people. Ingenuity.

Have you seen the prices for the UK gigs on there already

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 26 memyselfandi

Just checked https://www.soldouteventtickets.com. They are charding £650 sterling - Approx €1000, I honestly can't bring myself to do it

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,616 ✭✭✭ClareBear

Looks like I was one of the lucky few to get 2, my sister got them in Ticketmaster in Cork no bother, she said there weren't even that many people there. Very happy. He'll probably play another gig so don't worry.

He's clearing about 300,000 per gig so I guess he'll be back. And of course if he keeps falling asleep at the wheel as well as hitting three cars trying to come out of a parking spot he'll need all the gigs he can get.

PS paid 272 euro online at 9.38 this morning for two tickets for Saturday night, crazy

George Michael sold out years ago. and at those prices he can go shove a careless Whspa bar up his hole

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,505 ✭✭✭irlirishkev

I found it difficult to get tickets too.. I persevered though and got thru. Only managed when the 3rd night went on sale though. I got 4 standing, and then 2 seated. The latter was an after thought as I'd rather sit. I'll give the standing ones to my mates..

    Pricey alright..

Anyone paying that to see that tosser needs their head examined.

€130 to see that guy is crazy.
He hasnt done anything decent in over 10 years and he was never that good to begin with.
A ticket for a 2 or 3 day event costs a little more than that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,632 ✭✭✭✭okidoki987

Most of us probably wouldn't pay 5 cent to see him but when your other
    half calls, you LISTEN!
I even tried 1 ticket at various stages and got ZIP :o

I was walkin past Music City in Bray and saw the queue. Wondered what it was for. Then remembered it was George Michael. Couldnt stop laughin cos the mix of people that were there was unreal. What a rip-off though.

Indeedily, Bruce tickets cost less and are 1000% better value.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,058 ✭✭✭JJ

And if you're bitch whines about not gettin' tickets, you stand up, be a man and tell her to get back to cookin' your dinner.

If you prefer lyrics like 'gonna kill the yellow man, baaawn in the US hey hey' over the rather more sophisticated 'Praying For Time'.

Wouldn't mind getting tickets for Michael if he promised to play his funkier pre 1992 stuff and not the crap he has churned out for a few years now.

GM's easily one of the most talented songwriters of the last 30 years. All you have to do is listen to his albums "Listen Without Prejudice" and "Older". It takes serious talent to produce music like that.

Admittedly, I don't think his work of late has compared to either of the aforementioned albums, but there's some extremely good, and very clever tracks on his last album. His singles don't reflect the music that's on the albums, he seems to aim for the middle of the road, hence 'Amazing'..

Even pre 1990, songs from his 'Faith' album stand out.. 'Father Figure', 'Faith', 'Kissing a Fool'.. all great.

Saw the thread header and said oh no don't tell me he's released a crass poppy commercial tune !! :D

I went straight for the Thursday one at 9a.m. although tickets were only made availabale from about 9.02a.m. and I could only get two tickets - but that´s better than nothing.

This has got to be the most anticipated tour of the year!!

I am so looking forward to this!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,220 ✭✭✭✭Lex Luthor

I was online straight away at 9am but only started to get through about 9:03.

Would not let me select 2 tickets at once. Every time I tried differenct combinations of 2 or 4, it kept saying I couldn't. In the end I had to move fast and buy 2 separate tickets. In one sense I am glad I got 2, but a bit pissed they are not together. I also got stung for the credit card charge twice.

The seats are not too far from eachother, but would rather them together. Needless to say the missus is chuffed.

What do you think are my chances when we get there to ask the person sitting next to one of us if they were on their own if they would move? We can only try I suppose?

Man, I feel ill. If you seriously think he's one of the most talented songwriters of the last 30 years you need to go buy a dummies guide to music.

Different planet altogether. Bruce Springsteen is as sophistaicated as Meatloaf and Twisted Sister. George Michael is a far better songwriter imo. He also has a far better range, not all his songs are to be designed to be shouted out over a battered stratocaster.

Neither is Bruce. See Nebraska, The Ghost of Tom Joad and Devils & Dust...and any live acoustic version of Born in the USA, played the way it should be played. Dunno where you are getting the Meatloaf and Twisted Sister comparisons Mr. Sophisticated.

this happened on Sat too....tossers........I wonder are Ticketmaster also generating false demand by constantly taking tickets off sale when gigs aren't actually sold out......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 461 ✭✭BOHS

From what i have heard(although dont quote me on this) they put these ones back on sale when they cancel peoples orders for ordering to many or credit card declined or things like that

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

I got 4 for my sister earlier on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,872 ✭✭✭segadreamcast

I ordered 2 (2x1) in two seperate windows and, somehow, only ended up with one confirmation there. **** it anyway. Don't suppose anyone has one spare ticket? Going on my own is not something I wanna do.
