    1. Who is running the event (organisation, society etc.)
    DIT Pokersoc are hosting it

    2. The purpose of the event (charity, commercial etc.)

Date TBC to suit as many teams as possible and Location should be Aungier St.

    4. Registration and Start time of event. TBC

    5. Any prerequisites (member of club, society etc)

    Must be a Student!

    6. How can tickets be purchased & is there a maximum number (in advance, at the door etc.)

Confirmation of Team will be necessary prior to event - only 1 team per college

    7. Type of Tournament (Hold'em/Omaha etc Freezeout/Rebuy etc.)
    Team Freeze-out

    8. Cost of entry and any subsequent rebuys/top-ups etc. €20 per player... so €160 per team

    18. Are there going to be dealers - and their level of skill: Self-Deal - it's a student event!

    19. Will there be a documented list of rules: If Jeff writes them

    20. Is there a tournament director: At the moment, no... But there will be one

    21. How are disputes handled - who has final say.: The unknown TD

If interested in participating, please state your college and preferred date in Late May/Early June... My exams finish May 26th so sometime after that!

I know... but this is a event that was just conceived, and nothing in set in stone at this moment...

It was suggested that we create a separate thread for the proposed Student Team Event... I thought I would post up the general idea at the moment and it could be amended when I receive feedback...

    :D

It's the first description of a tournament that made me laugh, I'm definitely in, and I'll see if I can grab a few from college to put the team together.

Trinity have 8 players for this. Do it sometime next week. Thursday at 5 would be good. Post up on UCDs page there and you should get another 8 no problem. We don't need no fancy paid for tournament director. Get a student to do it.

Next week will be a problem as we have some people doing their Finals that week, and others who just won't devote so much time to poker just before their end-of-year exams.

There won't be a reg fee for a TD, we'll be able to sort something out...

I'm getting onto UCD now, and I'm starting to think that more than 1 team per college should be allowed, just in case there's demand... Thoughts?

I think every college having the same amount of teams would be best, so ucd can put in two if everyone else does. More awkward, but I think it's the best approach for what we're trying to do.

    But that's just my 2c

Also if you get on to some colleges outside Dublin, NUI Maynooth, UCC, corkit etc.
I could see poker societys liking this as an end of year after exam celebration type think.

Coming up to the big smoke playing poker as a celebration for completing their exams in agricultural science etc... :p

i still say this should be a true TEAM event with player substitutions, chip passing, team decisions etc etc etc... i can see it now, shoutman calls me over... "jeff i need some chips", here ya go luke, have 3k from my stack "cheers jeff, i'm all in" folded around as luke shows 64o and we win best team bluff!!!
then we get to the final table, legend_dit takes a big hit and is worried about going on tilt, so we send in the rock that is aodea!!! TEAM POKER!!!!!

this is poor time of year tho cos DIT have exams pretty much now, then UCD have em, then trinity have them in june...
i think saturday june 7th or 8th is first day of world cup, football and poker in the fitz anyone!??!?!

june sometime seems to be the best, ucd exams start on the 8th of may and gon on until the 31st maybe even into june for some poor f*ckers. I'd definetly be up for this also though i guess it depends on the numbers for each team(s)

Count ITT in. We'll get a team organised. Keep us posted on Bebo.

Sadly, due to poor timing in other aspects of my life, I'm unable to organise this... If anyone else would like to step in and run it, DIT will have a team there for certain...

If not, I will ensure that this goes ahead in mid-October when all colleges have returned...
