Hey does anyone have any info on this story? The Recording Industry Association of America is sueing a family for file sharing over p2p networks even though they don't own a pc or have an internet connection. I've been trying to find info on this but any link I check seems to be broken or blank. Maybe they realised the booboo and had it taken down for damage control.
    Scary stuff.

Lets just clarify a story that sounds unrealistic has no back up right? Maybe it is just not true!

Boing Boing mentioned it last Sunday, how ever the link on their page is no longer correct. The original Rockmart Journal Article is here
Good to see all the facts are clear.

THe Boing Boing article is bias by saying "statistically" people sharing are buying more. THe only ever staistic I have ever seen on this matter have never been provable and used questionable collecting techniques.

The people in question didn't recieve any papers yet this reporter does claim there is a case. One person could make up this story and incase you don't think that is possible Stephen Glass did similar creating a similar IT myth about a hacker being hired by a large company. He worked for a big magazine not some local paper.

RIAA are also capable of mistakes like everyone else and some people are also capable of using other people's identity
