Just wondering if anyone heard it this morning?
Can't remember the name of the band/song, but apparently Anthony Worrell Thompson was in them.
Was telling someone in work about it, but google isn't coming up with the name...

The name of the song was 'Imagination'.
Worrel Thompson went by a French pseudonym at the time.

There is a song from around '85/'86 called Imagination by Belouis Some. Don't know whether that was the name of the group or the guy. Think it was the group. The song's very well-known. The chorus goes "Imagination. Could make a man of you. Imagination. Could make me love you too. Imagination. That's all I want from you-ou". It was recently used in an ad - Rimmel make-up, I think (Kate Moss is, or was pre-coke scandal, the face of it). But I find it hard to believe that Anthony Worrall Thompson had anything to do with that particular song. So maybe there's another less well-known one with the title of Imagination. The video was banned for being too sexually explicit. And it's pretty racy stuff all right (not just for the time - even now, in a world of Christina Aguilera shooting virtual porn, it would only be suitable for the post-watershed time slot). The idea of Worrall Thompson being involved with that... not a pleasant thought.

Does anyone know if it was actually Worrell Thompson? When you google it, it says the person that sang it was Neville Keighley..
Not that I care really, just weird that there's no reference to it anywhere on the net.

If Anthony Worrall Thompson was involved (bizarre), he must have been a backing musician or maybe their manager or agent or something. He certainly wasn't on vocals. Seen the vid. Presume Neville Keighley is the singer.

    :D

I remember that video. Very racy altogether and, as you say, is still very strong.

For 2 quick points, can you name Belouis'seseseses other big hit without googling?

Not a clue. Surely, like all one-hit wonders, they released a second single which got to number 26 and then they disappeared without trace?

Why is this thread of the day?

I think it was actually his first single, which went 'Some people, dance cheek to cheek'. Dramatic dance number from the mid 80s.
