I sit down at a $0.5/1 NL cash table with $20. I have been playing for about 20 minutes or so. I was playing pretty well, I hadn't made any mistakes yet and the standard of play is ok. To note my stradegy on low to medium pocket pairs is to check or call a raise with them but I never raise them usualy at a cash table. I just hope to hit the set on the flop, its probably not a great way to play but the advantage is that the opponent can never put you on trips in my opinion.
Anyways the hand history is below and I was wondering what I should do here.

    [Apr 23 12:04:29] : Seat 1 : bilotto has $8.23

call. 6 max table, low stakes etc.
Even if flush/straight is out there, you still have outs.

I did call and what an ejit I felt when I called. I was full sure I was gone and all my money gone! Well here is the rest of the hand. He had flopped his flush, I really didn't think he had a flush before I called, it entered my head that he had it or maybe a straight but I really though he was on 3 of a kind as well and I was just hoping it was less than mine.
Anyways the poker gods were looking down on me and put a pair on the board and made me a full house, I actually felt bad that he lost but what the heck I just doubled up and went on to win over €300 in the next hour, turned out to be a great day for me!!

    [Apr 23 12:04:28] : pauricmcb called $44.50
    [Apr 23 12:04:29] : Showdown!
    [Apr 23 12:04:29] : Seat 4 : pauricmcb has 9s 9d
    [Apr 23 12:04:31] : Seat 3 : gormondo has 5c Qc
    [Apr 23 12:04:31] : Seat 4 : pauricmcb has 9s 9d
    [Apr 23 12:05:07] : Board cards [9c 8c Jc 7c 7s]
    [Apr 23 12:05:07] : Seat 3 : gormondo has 5c Qc
    [Apr 23 12:05:07] : gormondo has Flush QJ987
    [Apr 23 12:05:07] : Seat 4 : pauricmcb has 9s 9d
    [Apr 23 12:05:07] : pauricmcb has Full House : 9s full of 7s
    [Apr 23 12:05:07] : pauricmcb wins $135 with Full House : 9s full of 7s
    [Apr 23 12:05:13] : pauricmcb : sorry mate
    [Apr 23 12:05:17] : Hand is over.

I was looking at this afterwards as I really couldn't believe my luck but it turned out that I wasn't as dead as I had though, i did have quite a few outs I suppose and went to this site and this is supposedly my odds of winning the hand:
33% on the turn and 23% on the river.

44 more to you, and the pot ended at 135, so you need to win 1/3 of the time to make the call EV neutral. Against a flush you will win almost exactly 1/3 of the time so the call is fine, but in fact the call is mandatory because he wont always have the flush, sometimes hell be on a draw or have an overpair.

Yeah most times you will be ahead here. The odd time they will have flopped it, but for the times that they do, all the other times will make up for it. And on top of that you have a good draw to the house. Unless you are quite deep stacked you shouldnt be shying away from this all in.
