who is this guy, hes a fool - he just keeps flip flopping with every comment he makes. RTE generally have a good rubgy team but this guy lets everyone down. For example he cheers Contepomi when he taps a peno in his own 22 against toulouse(and Leinster scores a try) but then complains when he does the same against munster (no try scored).
He decides that taking a kick at goal is the wrong decision for Leinster then about 6 mins later says its the right decision when nothing really has changed and Leinster still need a try to have any chance of beating to Munster
He doesnt seem to have any real opinion on the tactical moves by any team until that team scores a try and then the move is the "right decision" - complete arse punditry.

What Ward said was that it's not always a good idea to tap and go. It's great to have the vision to see when to use it, but if it goes wrong, on your head be it. In the game, Contepomi tapped poorly.

He also chose strangely when it came to deciding when to kick for goal, probably due to a lack of confidence given his start. It's matter of opinion when to take 3 or when to hit the corners, and this is subject to change, depending on the tempo as much as the scoreline.

If I remember correctly, Ward said he didn't see Leinster getting back in the Munster half, so he should take the points, then when Leinster gained some territorial respectability he had the second, and it might have seemed better to take the 3.

    *shrugs*

Anyway, the worst comment of the day came from Ryle Nugent. Calling O'Driscoll's pass over Hickie's (I think) head "millimetres from perfection". No Ryle, the difference between someones midriff and a foot above their head isn't best measured by millimetres.
