CD Image problems

I know this is probably a long shot. But here is my problem.

I've downloaded a few CD images from torrents. Upon installing (i've mounted them using Deamon Tools, Alcohol120% & UltraISO) all of them give me some "corrupt file" or "missing cab file" the usual stuff.

I can usually troubleshoot these problems myself. As it seems from the look of it that every image i'm downloading is already corrupt. But, i've made images of CDs I have onto my computer and tried installing them, and they too are giving me corrupt file errors. Upon moving these images to another computer on my network they install fine (albeit, some of the downloaded images still read as corrupt, i'm guessing the ones that actually are corrupt)

My setup on this computer is an nforce4 mobo with network controller, 2xSATA2 HDDs in RAID0 and an eircom 2Mb/256Kb connection. The only difference i can see between this computer and my other computer on the netword is the fact this one installs the images at around 4 times faster, and the other one is running win2000

Could the RAID0 and the SATA2 drives be installing the game too fast and skipping files or corrupting them?
Could my network controller be corrupting the files as i'm downloading them?

If you have any ideas as to why this might be happening, any help would be appreciated.

This was happenning My dads PC, Every thing that he downloaded like Firefox and Thunderbird said corrupt installation files.......

At first I thought it was our router losing bits of the file, but it worked fine on my PC, I did a format and reinstall and It has been fine ever since.

Try format and reinstall, It fixes everything:D

And install Windows to a seperate partition in future so that you can reinstal without losing data, I even have a partion for Games, Programs, Documents, Music, Swap file........

    The more the merrier

yeah well i'm thinking it could be the network controller. I had nvidia firewall installed before and it was causing images in IE to randomly be corrupted (weird i know) it was also causing my system to randomly reboot. I uninstalled it and IE was grand again, no more reboots. But i'm thinking there is something still messing up large file downloads like images. But then it doesn't explain why images from CDs i have are being corrupted? Its one of those problems that obviously doesn't have just one solution.

OK well after some digging around i've realised that problems with the Nvidia NIC causing corruptions isn't uncommon. A quick google search into this will prove that. It makes sense now why some of the CD images where reading as corrupt on the second computer. The ones that where corrupt where the ones that i'd copied across the network... using the nvidia NIC, and the ones that worked where the ones i copied off the cd directly onto my other computer.

So from digging this is what i've found from nvidia: "sorry about all the problems with the nvidia NIC for nf4... we promise to fix it for nf5" what a load of crap, nvidia acknowledge there nf4 chipset is riddled with issues regarding their NIC and they are doing nothing to fix it...

The only solution so far seems to be to get a pci NIC and disable onboard LAN... thats a nice waste of money getting this mobo because of the onboard Gb lan *damn you nvidia*
