I'm looking to buy a machine to work out at home (cardio). I'm currently trying to loose weight and improve overall fitness. I would be looking to spend an hour+ at least 4 nights a week on a work out but I need advice on what to buy. I'm looking at (in order of preference) rowers, bike, ski machine/cross trainer & tread mill.

But what I dont know is which one is best for what I'm after? Suggestions or opinions please.

I would say tread mill if you like walking and running. Most don't really like running, to much on the knees. But you could walk and use an incline. Or there is the eliptics, which I would suggest. It's not as hard on the knees and it is a very good cardio workout. But in the end you should go to like sears or some fitness store and try out different machines. One may feel better then the other. It's really a personal opinion.
