I've been invited to a 21st in a couple of weeks which has an 80's theme, but I have no idea what to wear or where to get it - I have no 80's clothes as it is! I'm just looking for pointers in where I should go and what I should look for, and maybe even for a hairstyle. I am about 5'10", proportionately I have long legs and a short torso so I'd prefer tops that are long to try balance this out, I'm none too fond of my thighs though so I don't want to show them off. I like bright colours. Oh, and if anyone wants to suggest hairstyles, I have long blonde hair that's riciculously straight, curls never stay in, but I thought 80's hairstyles were all curly so that might be a problem. If anyone could suggest places to go and things to look for while shopping I would be really grateful, as I have no idea where to start!

most of the current fashion that looks dodge tends to be eighties throwbacks (long v-neck t-shirts w/ horizontal stripes, any thing with horizontal stripes really, leg warmers, leggings, footless tights...)

Or check out charity shops. They would defo have 80's style clothes. Go for things like white shoes and white bags. Like tree said long stripey tops and leggings worn with the white shoes. Awear seem to always have something 80's in the store. Plastic jewellery in white, blue, red, yellow, pink.

Think Madonna in the 80's with heavy black eyeliner and stripey pink or red blusher. Bright pink hair scrunchies- wear it really high ontop of your head or even to one side if you can't curl your hair.

I know it's an 80's theme and all, but I don't want to look crap - is it possible to dress 80's and actually look good?

Nah, the style in the 80's was never good. It was better to look the less co-ordinated as possible from what I can tell by films, tv programmes.

Its an 80's themed party. Ya might aswell go the whole hog otherwise you'll prob look bad...
