This fight is one that I am really looking forward to on the card, I reckon it is going to be a barn burner. My pick for this one is without a shadow of a doubt Tim "Mad Dog" Murphy. No disrespect to Owen of course who I think is a very sound guy and an excellent fighter, but I think Tim has the credentials to take this one.
The main plus he has over the Rowdy One is of course experience, Tim has taken on the best fighters in this country at his weight and has acquitted himself admirably, he knows what it takes to win at this level and is very capable in every range. He has submitted and knocked out top class opponents; he is one of the few fighters to hold a submission victory over the Moycullen Scumbag John Walsh, he knocked out UFR Lightweight Champion Micky Young in TEN SECONDS and has a string of other victories over fighters vastly more experienced than Owen.
Still though styles make fights, discounting the relative experience differential, how will the fighters measure up against each other on individual merits? Tim has fought fighters with equivalent submission skill to Roddy and avoided tapping out, while he has knocked out fighters far more capable standing than Owen and I feel that is how this match will go too.

Tim Murphy by KO in the second round.

    Im up for Owen Roddy!!!

    Tim will know why :D

Seriously though, I had no idea you were this far advanced Tim. Kudos mate!

    Good luck ;)

I'm going to go for Tim by decision. He's on a roll at the moment, and while Owen is obviously a good ground fighter, I believe he's no slouch standing either. I don't think Tim will have it all his own way here but I do think he'll be able to dominate enough to make it count come decision time.

No disrespect to Owen but as Mark has said Tim has more experience on his side and for me this will be the telling point
Tim for the win round one

Can't wait to see this one should be interesting.

I'll have to go with Tim for this one. He's been training real hard and I can't see the fight going to a decision.

Tim to win in the first round!

Tough fight to call. I've seen Tim fight and had my @ss kicked by Owen. Tim has the experience factor, but Roddy is no walkover.

This will be a fantastic fight - Tim definitely has the experience advantage, but I think the Rowdy one will take this matchup!

The Mad Dog has knockout power no doubt, but Owen is one of the most technical strikers I've ever trained with. I think he'll bring the pressure standing, which will make it easier to take Tim down (and no doubt we can all agree that he is a damn hard man to take down!). Owen will respect Tim's standup, but not be cowed by it.

I can see Mark's point that Tim has faced top submission guys before - most notably Colm O'Reilly, but Owen Roddy's style of ground game is very different. While he can play a tight technical zhoo zhitsoo passing game, he can also be a whirling dervish of pain (believe me I know).

My prediction? "Rowdy" Owen Roddy by submission late in round 2.

A very close fight, and one that has me peepeeing in anticipation!

I was talking to him today at the league and I believe we agreed on 20%! :)

Tim? 20%. I think you're memory is a bit fuzzy it was definitely 10%. :) Now if that €2 isn't gonna make you train!!!

yep I'm still here , i will pay up my debts on the night in question, anyone willing to do a preview of Clive vs Owen dempsey ?Its one I'm really looking forward to seeing !It could be interesting as Clive has trained out at Next Generation once or twice so both fighters should know each other, I still remember clives devastating knee victory in one of the other ROT's !

    Vascho ro

sweet to the beat man, will see you there, I gonna be the fat guy reffing the Cage kickboxing fight..

... and i dont want any one disagreeing with my decisions :)

I gonna go all out and bet €20 on Clive to win that fight, think Owen is extremely tough and well rounded ( not that i have any idea what that means I just see other people writing it :D ), but i seen clive train, know hes been to Brazil, seen him KO some fella with a knee... you got to love him:p

    any takers??

Tempted Paddy, tempted.. but losing €40 to me in one night will kill your chances of getting pist later so I'll leave you be. Also, I think Clive will win that one.;)

Clive, representing his new fight team Team Cosmopolitan, will pull in the win.

    GO TEAM COSMO!

Nice psych out attempt Paddy! I know a couple of things about Tim that would stop me from worrying though!

Word on the street is that Roddy has learned the secret art of throwing hadukens. The source however was a disorientated man with a bottle of whiskey, so take it for what it's worth.
