I have recently started working in a new company. They have an extremely aggressive web blocking policy using a product called websense.

    I need my webmail.

Is there any way that I can set up a page (which would not be blocked from work) to mirror my webmail.

Or to pass a username and password to my webmail.

Does your webmail allow pop3 access? Gmail, yahoo & hotmail all do.

if so try outlook express, or if you have outlook 2003, may not go through websense

    alternately try www.mail2web.com

if all else fails see if you can redirect your emails into a webmail that you can access

Websense blocks all HTTP traffic to specified IPs. Place i work in also uses it, your not going to have much look getting around it without putting your job in jeopardy.

Its why we have the internet at home :)

Could get emails sent to your phone and reply with work email if its that important :)

Have you tried going to www.vtunnel.com? It's a great web proxy.. We have the same problem at work and I'm able to get to my gmail account through it... Infact it's how i'm getting to this web site...

Gotta agree with KdjaC, if they block webmail you won't do yourself any favours by trying to bypass it, especially if it isn't work related.

The main reason for blocking is probably because they can run the same AV scans against web mail as they can on the mail server.

Does anyone know of a TEXT ONLY webmail service which does NOT allow any attachments ?
As a service like that might be allowed by many businesses. Considering the current state of windows / IE security though I can see the trend of more companies closing webmail, and temporary blocking becoming permenant simply because so this year every month there has been at least one more whopping great big hole that affects fully patched systems.

Self extracting archives and zips with VBScript and VBA in them.

Surely this is what really shouldn't be allowed.

I got around this issue by getting my own domain name from blacknight Powered by UebiMiau! this got by websence everytime.

also I agree with KdjaC you could get yourself in all kinds of **** all for an email. But the above does work if you take that path.

I use a proxy called Megaproxy, it will get you around websense.

Have you checked if you can access any sites beginning with https, a lot of sites can be accessed in this way and websense will not block them.

If you have a work mail address, you might be able to get your webmail account to forward your mail to this address, assuming the company allows unofficial mail.
