I've just copied and pasted this from another forum.
tis a worthwhile cause, so give it a few seconds of your time to sign up

    Hi there,

Just a quick shout out to all promoters, websites or
interested parties, who would like to help the Give Us The Night
campaign. As you may know, we are an independent lobby group aiming
to promote sensible discussion and debate on the subject of Irish
licensing laws, with main reference to nightclubs. You can go to
http://www.giveusthenight.com for full information on what we're about.

It’s over 18 months ago since we started out, when a resounding show
of people power led to almost 20,000 petition signatures in four
days, in opposition to reports that Gardaí were to attempt close
down Dublin nightclubs at 1.30 a.m. Thankfully our voice was heard,
and we’ve been credited by many within the industry for helping
    overturn that situation.

With Minister McDowell having just prepared an all
encompassing “Sale of Alcohol Bill”, changes or suggestions for
changes in legislation are on the way. We need our voice heard here
when this matter comes up for debate, and would like everyone who
supports what we do to help out. There was a big outcry from
promoters who felt their club nights would be affected when Give Us
The Night originally started out; and we would call on these same
people to put their weight behind our campaign now again, by
carrying our logo on posters, flyers etc.

Anyone can carry our logo on their posters/flyers, and we’ve
also got a downloadable gif. banner for websites. Log onto
http://www.giveusthenight.com and you’ll find any of the necessary
files ready for download, in our Downloads section. We would also be
grateful if you can pass on this email to anyone you know who you
    think would be interested.

Also, if you agree with general aims of Give Us The Night then log
onto our site and join the campaign. The more numbers (signed up
names) we receive, the more political clout we will ultimately have.

For more info or enquiries contact us at info@giveusthenight.com

    Thanks for your support,

    Give Us The Night Team

Yes indeed fair play to the people behind this very worthwhile venture and i wish them the best of luck.

Despite Dublin and certain other parts of Ireland being cosmopolitan we are still living in the dark ages over certain things like Pubs and Clubs closing at stupidly early times compared to most of the rest of Europe and this has got to change or we will be a laughing stock, even our near neighbours in England have clubs open until 7am and beyond and 24 hour bars, why cant' we?
