    Howdy,

I need a whole rake of new kitchen appliances for my new house. Does anyone know of any good websites that you can buy this stuff from? Ive seen a few whose prices seem pretty good compared to DID, Power City, etc. but they are all based in England and the shipping to Ireland makes it unfeasible.

Think you're better off buying here to be honest. Most of the places will give you an extra discount if you buy a few things off them. I got an extra 100 or so quid off stuff in Power City that would have cost e1200 in the sale.

    Hi
    have a look at www.trade-appliances.co.uk
shipping is about 80stg for a pallet of gear.
I will be saving about 800e on a range cooker, hood, dishwasher and sink in the coming weeks
if thats not feasible - I don't know what is ??

Places here give you jack sh*te off already inflated prices.
just grab a piece of paper and make a list and compare.

I will def be using these -have chatted to them already and they do 2 shipments to Ireland weekly.

Would warranties be affected by having items not being used in the country they were intended for?

Maybe it doesn't matter as it's within EU?

    Correct.
You still have a full warranty.
There was actually a write-up on the trade-appliances.co.uk website in the Sunday Business Post a few weeks back. They interviewed the MD who said they intend in the near future to set up a distribution warehouse to satisfy Irish orders here in Ireland. Tbh- £80 for a pallet load of stuff is not bad going at all.....

    Yup, delivery charge is good.

Is the prices converted to 21% at Checkout? If not, the VAT rate will differ if they open their Irish warehouse.

Still though, will be interesting to see how it goes.

    Hi,
I bought over 2000 euros worth off trade appliances about 2 years ago ( I was probably the first Irish person as I had to ask about delivery to ireland etc).
I bought a 90cm baumatic cooking theatre, a very large Baumatic stainless steel fridge and a 90cm baumatic glass hood. I saved about 1000euro on the transaction compared to ireland. One thing, the cooker bottom door was damaged during transit and it took ages to get fixed but it was still worth it.
Recently a friend at work bought a 90cm Britannia cooking theatre from
http://www.tradingpost-appliances.co.uk ( I think this is trading-appliances store as well) on my recommendation and saved over 1000Euro compared to Ireland.
    regards
    Pajoe

thanks for the responses all. Ive had a look at the sites, but the price difference doesn't seem to be signifianct enough to make it worth while, especially when delivery and the potential delay with repair/returns are factored in. Perhaps that just cause Im looking at cheaper stuff thou - there may be more savings to be had in more high-end goods. Think it will be power city and baize house for me!

Personally I would not touch any place here as said mental overpriced.

We purchased either smeg or baumatic appliances from Secondtek on Ebay.
We saved a fortune and got good quality appliances.
For example the island hood was 799 in the shops and we got it for 400. The larder fridge was over 1100 euro here, we to it for 570, some difference.

In the end we also bought the double over, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, phone, VAC, island hod, integrated fridge.
Definately a 2 grand saving from here.

I bought all my appliances from a crowd in Clerys in oconnell street didnt know they there until i was in there with my mrs buying something else. they done a great deal same prices if not better than the satellite stores around dublin. Staff new what they were talking about which made a big difference to us novices. worth a try.........

I had to buy everyhting for my kitchen recently, buying onlnie jsut wasn't visable.
Powercity were the cheapest,if you are not too fussy about colour and things matching, but if you are DID work out far cheaper and better value.
