[Request] RJ45 Modular Plugs & Cat 5

Anywhere I can buy RJ45 plugs in large amounts (200+) at a decent price? The likes of Maplin sell them in bags of ten for about 3 euro. :rolleyes:

Cat 5 goes for about 13 cent a metre, can I do better?!?

Actually, hope you don't mind my jumping onto your thread, but I was about to post looking for places to buy coloured CAT5e cable - i.e. I'm looking for CAT5e in red, green, blue and grey.
Anyone any ideas? Connectix seem to make some, but I can't find bulk suppliers.

How much do you guys need..? I have a couple of (about 1/3 used) boxes of gray cable going to spare at home; if h0stn0tf0und or WizZard are interested I can check the length of whats left...

Just giving this a bump.
I have to rewire an office soon so will be needing CAT6 cable, ideally in 2-3 colours and a couple of hundred connectors. Would prefer not go to eBay where I can't check the quality of the product first

Anyone know the best/cheapest Irish retailers?

At work we source our coloured cables from Kedington's Limerick office, although we generally buy pre-made cables (I can get prices for you on Tuesday if necessary). Their turnaround is generally pretty good, we normally get deliveries next working day. I'm sure a phone call to at least get prices form the wouldn't hurt....

Beacon Communications on 01-419 8485 can supply coloured Cat5e & RJ45's at reasonable prices.
WizZard are you sure you need to go down the Cat6 route it'll cost a small fortune. The data centures running most internet servers usualy use Cat5e, that will give you speeds up to 100meg no problem

Not really, to be honest I think CAT5e will be fine, but a lot of data flows through this network (well, it will) and I'd like to be fairly future proofed for 2.5G and 10G ethernet if I can - it wouldn't be an easy job to reqwire... . Also, I read somewhere that CAT6 suffers less from errors/retransmitted packets than CAT5/e

Connectix can get any standard length/colour of cat5e in if yea request it. They can also get boxes of it again in any colour.
Just dealing with them in the past few weeks for the company I work for and they seem to be good.
