    Hey all
I am getting sky installed this friday and will need a telephone point. I would like to have one set up on the wall ready to go as opposed to a cable along the floor through a few rooms. I have put in points before but was wondering if there is some kind of multi way hub/adapter thing you can get to hook up say 3 or 4 points from one 'master' point. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

as far as I know you will only need the telephone cable there when the sky installer arrives so he can verify the line.
Once he's gone, take it away...I stand to be corrected but I don't have the tel line plugged into my decoder.
You only need it for ordering PPV movies, porn, etc

    FYI

New contracts for sky has to have the phone line connected for a min of 12 months. Its in your agreement contract.

Yes, garyh3 is correct. It is part of the T&C's of the free box and dish offer.

There is an option for a No Phone Line (NPL) installation, but there is an extra charge of €37.50 payable seperately by CC or Laser.

Besides, by the time you've the phoneline installed, you won't really need to disconnect it, after all the hassle putting it in!

With the regards the multipoint thing, I've seen adaptors that (like a trailing socket) convert 1 socket to 5 sockets. They're in a blue blisterpack. Maybe check out your nearest Eircom shop or maybe a mobile phone shop (some seem to sell landline accessories and phones also)

I did say new contracts. My friend 6 months ago put in sky and then he received a nasty letter from Sky stating that the line is not connected and that were going to stop his sky within the next two weeks. He complained and said that it was plugged in. Turned out that he had a prefix of 9 on his box setup.
