Marvel are about to start their Civil war story, which they have been building up elements of over the past year (or at least have used the elements of stories over the past year)

i realise that not everyone is into the Marvel universe, in fact some people downright loathe it, and thats fair enough, i think theres enough of each to go round!

Anyway, heres my thing, over the past year (or two- if you wanna go back a bit further with Strazinskis 'Amazing Spiderman' - which gave us the genesis for some of the current stories), have marvel done a good job in telling us stories?

We have had Spidermans origin re-interpreted (not re-told), we have had 'The Other', 'House Of M', and 'DeciMation'...and now Civil War, I've followed some of the titles involved in these stores, so I guess I've been happy enough to do so.

How does everyone else feel? I know that there was an element of the cash cow to what marvel are doing....yes Marvel want to make money, I'm as surprised as the rest of you :D

I think I agree with a lot of what you said. i've read The Other, and I'm only vaguely aware of what happened in House of M and DeciMation. I think Nick Fury's Secret War is gonna be mentioned in Civil War as well (and i have no idea what that's about) BUT I think it's gonna be good.
Think I'm gonna have to split up which titles I buy with a few friends though. (there's no way i could afford them all) and I know that you probably won't HAVE to buy them all but I'd like to at least read them. Think i'll definitely get the Punisher titles. Can't wait to see Frank kickin' some Super ass again.

And I hope Iron Man gets the crap royally beat out of him. I never really liked him to begin with but now he's getting too big for his britches. He'll have to get the Extra Large britches from now on, but the crazy thing is, with this whole superhero registration act, i kinda think he's right. but i'll never agree with him cos i've always been an X-Fan at heart and will always be opposed to "The Man" (even if he is a hot, sexy, female Man)

    looking forward to it anyway.

I am a Big Marvel fan so this will be biased, but i feel Marvel have really hit the nail on the head here with this story arch.

I feel it is touching on current events, if you liken Super Powered people to Nukes which they have done in this story line it all makes sence why this topic is splitting the Marvel universe. Who should have control, who is responsible to monitoring these powerful weapons, can you trust the governments to do it?

I think the elements of character developement happening currently is excellent especially the Daredevil story arch which will now have The Punisher in it, is fantastic.

I am lucky enough to be able to get all the comics in the list for this event, but if i wasn't i would probably look at DCP on torrents.
