Installing additional SCSI ultra 320 drive

We have a HP ProLiant ML110 G3 server with a ultra 320 SCSI drive installed. I have another one to install.

I'm unsure of how to set the jumpers on the drive for the corred ID. The drive in the machine has a large jumper over J6 with no jumpers on the other 12 pins.

The new drive has it's pins marked as follows

    .. ID0
    .. ID1
    .. ID2
    .. ID3
    .. WRITE PROT
    .. START CMD
    .. NARROW/WIDE
    .. DIFFSENS
    .. N.C
    .. IDD RESET
    .. LED
    .. TERM PWR EN

It also has an additional connector on the back with 12 pins (between the SCSI cable plug and power plug)

How many jumpers do I need to install on the drive and what pins should I cover?

    Hi

It may be worthwhile checking the HP support site for a hardware manual for that particular server as that should include info on installing additional hdd's also any documentation from the drive manufacturers site too.

    Hi Darren

    Paddyo here!!

HP Support number from Ireland is 1850 924 590

When you boot with the first drive does the screen say what the ID of the first drive is?

Have you tried putting a jumper on the other ID pins (ID1, ID2, ID3) if the dirst drive is ID0

    I will ask around again.

    Let me know

    Paddyo

Did you try just sticking it in. scsi don't really use jumpers like ide
throw it in and you can probally configure it with out even rebooting windows.
Config also available from the scsi bios
