Internet for dummies

    Hi all,

    Looking to get an internet home package for downloading music and movies ( not that type ).

    I have NO idea of what provider is the best ( relative to price ) - from what i've read Magnet looks the quickest, but i also will probably need a decent service as regards problem solving etc. Everyone I ring promises their service is the best obviously, but if anyone here has a good word I'd really appreciate it.

    Eircom, BT and NTL all provide a pretty solid broadband service. NTL generally gets the most positive comments. I've had all 3. No complaints and NTL is the best imo.

    I've rarely had to deal with customer service. However, by most peoples accounts, the cs from all broadband providers is utter pants.

    Broadband forum with plenty of comment about most providers.
