    The Green Mile:

    Galway based Shootin' Star Productions(who brought you "Clerk's" "Misery" "The Exorcist" and "Blue") will be staging for the 3rd time due to popular demand Stephen King's novel/Frank Darabont's film "The Green Mile" which has already brought the roof down in Town Hall Theatre were it was performed in front of full houses all week with standing novations.The Green Mile this time is going on national tour and should be also going to England/Scotland but dates/venues are to be confirmed so watch this space or contact us at Shootinstarproductions@hotmail.com

    It is set on Death Row in a 1930's American Prison.The story centres on a prison guard called Paul Edgecomb(Padraic Mc Donagh) whose sanity is sorely tested by watching men live and die everyday.He encounters a prisoner called John Coffey(6ft 9inc Willie Moriarity),whose under sentence for the rape and murder of two young children.Coffey seems an unlikely murder,he's afraid of the dark,cries in his sleep,and he is simple minded.He also has the gift of healing.Edgecomb,aswell as the other guards - the sympatheic Brutus(Colm Donnelly) and the annoying but sadistic Percy (Patrick Boylan),are in for a strange experience that involves intelligent mice,brutal executions,and the revelation about Coffey's innocence and his true identity.

    Cast also includes: Stephen Patrick Kenny(Showbands), Ciaron Davies (King Arthur) Matt Kelly (Tinkers Blade) Marty Mulligan(The Drowning),Joan Gildea(Factory Girls), Eddie Heffernan(liar),Seamus O' Donnell(the B.F.G).

    Interesting! Why? For what scene?

    Looks like an interesting production. Must try to get along to it in the Táin.

    Hi Bard,

    The strobe lights are used in the 2nd last scene when poor John Coffey(Like the drink but only spelt different)is put to the chair....so everythin is in slow motion and sad music plays over head and it also shows that the guards did NOT WANT TO PUT THIS MAN ON THAT DAMN CHAIR!!!!!
