    "Who?" I hear you cry...

He's the lead singer with Marillion and has been for the last 17-odd years since a large piscine Scottish gentleman left the band. He's playing a rare Irish solo show on April 29th in Whelans and tickets are pretty reasonable at 22.50 (plus the usual Ticketb@stard charges). Seen no mention of it anywhere else, but I thought there might be some interest among the discerning boards community.

    I'll be there, anyway.

Bump as the gig is later today. The old lugholes will appreciate the break after Saxon on Thursday!

I would have loved to have been there, but couldn't make it. What was it like? I think H is great!

He was excellent, great voice that can really cut it live as well. He did a lot of talking as well during the gig, talking about his life and reading an entry from his diary about the last time Marillion played in Belfast (in 2004). He sang some Marillion songs and some cover versions, accompanying himself on piano (or in the case of the final number, he sang Stevie Wonder's Livin' For the City acapella with the crowd on accompanying handclaps!)

Highlights for me were a great cover of the Waterboys' Whole of the Moon/Spirit, Easter and Afraid of Sunlight as well as the aforementioned acapella closer.

It sounds brilliant. Mind you he has a fantastic voice. I hope he comes back to Dublin again and I'll try and make it there.
Thanks for the review and the picture. I thinks he's fantastic.
