    Hi,
I found this site a few days ago as I was sure that my computer was infected but wasn't sure of what to do. I got rid of my updated Norton AV and downloaded the free AVG software which highlighted ten infections and removed 8.

Q1: The two objects it didn't remove were C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\mfczd.exe (a trojan horse downloader agent BGL) AND C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\mfcdo32.exe ( trojan horse generic msv)
Could I run a search for these two files and just delete them from the system?

Q2: My brother gave me his fairly new pc last month as he was emigrating. It has no anti virus software and the modem is fcuked. Can I connect it up to my own computer and run AVG, search and destroy, Stinger ect onto the new Computer from the old one. How would I do this, if its posssible.

    Thanking you in advance wtr.

For the second Q can you burn the AVG files onto a CD and then run them on the new computer?

That would be the easiest way.

For a fair few trojans, if you reboot into safe mode, you can delete them safely.

easiest is to put all the antivirus software onto a USB pen drive (assuming other pc boots up and can read from the USB drive)

they are very cheap nowadays, should be able to fit the software onto it
