Disturbing 9/11 Tapes Played at Moussaoui Trial

This (especially the Kevin Cosgrove) tape has truely disturbed me. Just a warning that this is NOT MIND SAFE. If you really want to hear the mp3's, they are here. I know there's the whole "morbid curiousity" thing but I really wish I hadn't listened. It was just such a helpless feeling. The first one ends as the building collapses and you can actually hear it start to happen.

    Original link here.

    World Trade center burning

This is really disturbing to actually see the video of the trade center as well as hearing the voice

Sad. Very sad. Although this does prove that the fire was oxygen starved and could not burn at the heat needed to melt steel.

Nothing at all. This is the sentencing phase of the trial, the man was already found guilty of the crime (His confession made life a lot easier). Now they're just trying to determine what sort of punishment would fit.
Although this does prove that the fire was oxygen starved and could not burn at the heat needed to melt steel.

I am befuddled as to how the fact that people were able to get enough oxygen to call on the 'phone is an indicator of the fire being oxygen-starved.

The cockpit voice recorder for Flight 93 was released last week as well. Doesn't reveal very much, except that the pilot was still alive as they crashed with the passengers beating on the cockpit door.

Because the were near the window....:o

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 16,646 Mod ✭✭✭✭Manic Moran

In which case, if they were on the far side of the building from the fire, doesn't that mean that their situation is completely independent from that of the fire? Doesn't mean that they have to be the same, or the converse. Their state has no relevance to that of the fire.

    Wow. Horrible :(

The woman working for 911 sounded as if she wasn't even listening or taking Melissa Doi's phone call seriously. Does anyone know if she survived or not?

I think you mean Fox News, CNN is straighter and less opinionated than Fox. Of course, you're better off steering clear of the whole 'opinion news' by watching the likes of euronews. They're completely straight to the point, i love their No Comment!

I don't watch CNN. I'm not American. You must stop making stupid assumptions.

We are told that they claimed responsibility.

We are fed what to think.

While it's is very likely Al Queda were responsible, I agree we can never be sure.

Still, it was a sick incident.

Exactly we are being brainwashed by all this propaganda.

Like when the underground trainstations were bomed last year in London, all the news stations called them terrorists but how are they terrorists they are defending themselves. See what is bugging america and england is the war is being brought to their country, they called the Irish people terrorists for bringing the war to them. When they attack us they are called terrorists but when we (america, england, europeans, whites, christians) attack them we are not terrorists!?!?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 850 ✭✭✭DOLEMAN

There is no doubt there are double standards (i.e. the US being more violent than any terrorist group) but that still doesn't mean Al Qaeda are not responsible.

We dont know whether not its Al Qaeda , Mossad , The U.S themselves or your next door neighbour. You will never know.

The thing is they have made a scape goat outta of a supposed terrorist group being Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden.

The american government tell us what to believe its as simple as that.

Well i dont really know. What I believe is listening to people that where actually there and all that.

Thats another thing wrong you dont actually know who to believe.

The Americans are the terroists of this world. I was in New York in January and all the news stations could talk about was IRAN. Now the topic of Iran is becoming more and more prevailant. Now the media say they have started using uranium to create nuclear warheads, how do we know this is true. Its all part of the start of an elaborate campaign to have us believing that Iran is country we should fear because of their supposed ventures in the production of nuclear warheads. The thing is WE DONT KNOW WHETHER OR NOT THEY HAVE URANIUM. They maybe doing nothing whatsoever, but because America must continue the hunt for OIL, they have to make a case for invasion.

If she was on the 83rd floor Id doubt it. As for the 911 woman, shes trained to try and keep people calm. The victim is panicking, the 911 person doesnt really help by panicking with them. The reality is 911 couldnt really do a thing for people trapped over the fire. No way to reach them, even if they tried sending working from the roof down via choppers the heat/smoke would make the choppers job very hard, and thats before the building collapses. I can only imagine the stress/guilt that must have gone on the 911 telephone operators having to basically lie to people who they must have realised were extremely unlikely to survive.
Sad. Very sad. Although this does prove that the fire was oxygen starved and could not burn at the heat needed to melt steel.

Yes, I guess the woman in the first call was lying about the heat being unbearable.
Exactly we are being brainwashed by all this propaganda.

    Glass Houses. Throwing Stones. tbh.

It always staggers me how so many good people can die every day while idiocy, like rats and coakroaches, manages to survive.

I feel sorry for the man on trial.

Whether he be innocent or not doesn't matter. There is no way he's going to get a fair trial to be honest.

And did Iran ever say they where making nuclear arms? No.

They have to supply electricity to 68 million people in their country and to improve their economy. Whats wrong with that! No but "america" said they are making nuclear arms so lets all believe them. Iran are doing nothing wrong. Iran showed their military capabilies, which was showed on the news, because they are being threatened by america, they have to defend themselves.

I wont see america going into Iran. Iran are way too strong for them jus like Iraq at the moment but where being led to beleive that america is winnig that war! every morning when i wake up i switch on the Rte teletext and theres always headlines saying XX amount of eng or american soldiers killed but these arent shown on live news feeds such as rte news or bbc or cnn etc.

Agreed, that bloke is defo fcuked one way or another.

The following is a post from the politics forum about the nuclear program.
    AKRASIA wrote:
Iran shouldn't be allowed to have Nukes, But neither should America. Of all countries in the world, America should not be allowed have them. America are the only country to use Nuclear weapons in a war, Bush pretty much has announced that he wants to Use his nukes in a strike on Iran. It is America who are preventing global nuclear disarmament and who are developing new nuclear technology that is designed to lower the nuclear threshold. it is america who are threatening all these dangerous countries with 'regime change' which is forcing them to seek out a deterrent to attack. America are the biggest threat to world peace by a ****in long shot. And the current republican government is certifiably psychopathic.

If he is a part of the army he has no rights in that respect. Especially not the english army. They might be sending prince william/harry.. whichever.. to afghanistan/iraq.

Anyways, back on track, this dude is just being used as a scapegoat really.

Are you on crack or something? Al-Qaeda have admitted that they were responsible for the WTC attacks. Are you seriously suggesting that the Americans told Al-Qaeda to do that?

(By the way if the Americans wanted to make a scapegoat surely it would have been Saddam?)

I feel sorry for the man on trial.

Whether he be innocent or not doesn't matter. There is no way he's going to get a fair trial to be honest.

Hes guilty. He pleaded guilty and has laughed and mocked his way through the trial. One highlight included singing "Burn in the USA" (i.e.Bruce Springsteen) whilst tapes like the above were being played. I dont feel sorry for him.
I dont know I dont think so and even if he was he stil should have his rights...

No surprise, but to inform you...

    A) He should have resigned in 2004 if he had a problem with the possibility of being deployed. He didnt, and most armies are not democracies. You go where youre ordered.

    B) He was ordered to Iraq in 2005. He tried to argue it was an illegal war. This was thrown out (correctly) because the Iraq occupation was (by this point) 100% legal and supported by UN resolutions and international law. Hence, not illegal.

The guy in question was described as extremely arrogant by the trial judges, so I can only assume he was showboating as he had no case, as any lawyer would have told him.

They tried to use Saddam as a scapegoat, remember. When it first happened. Everyone linked Al-Qaida with Saddam, then this was rubbished.

Is it not possible that they admitted to it to save face? If you're a terrorist organisation you're not going to say, "oh nope! That wasn't me at all at all".

Right maybe they did, put who is to say the US government didnt pay them off. Who is to say first that this Al Qaeda organisation exists?

U really believe that the two planes that hit the WTC caused both buildings to collapse in such a manner. The whole structure melting is BS that was fed to us by the US government.

He was RAF. He did have his rights. One of which was the right to trial, which was held.

The judges were extremely scathing of him. I particularly liked the comment about his having the option of resigning, but instead chosing to continue to draw his 'not inconsiderable salary'

Exactly my point. Thus to imply that the Americans sought to make Al Qaeda a scapegoat is BS.

I don't understand your point. The WTC attacks were regarded as a massive success for terrorists. Admitting responsibility had nothing to do with "saving face".
    Willem D wrote:

How about the fact that they have cells all around the world as well as members. i.e. Moussaoui!

How can you believe that a plane could cause a building to collapse in such a manner. I for one am not the only who believes this.
