    You don't, unless you are buying from the boot of a car. There is no marking on the bottles like there is with cigarettes. It would be interesting to see how well this stands up as a defence in court however...

    There is no marking on the bottles like there is with cigarettes...
    well certain drinks will have different countries of origin. Like smokes. So smirnoff red should say it is distilled in Ireland if bought here, unless you go to some fancy offie that imports the good russian stuff.
    some vodkas are only distilled & bottled in the original country, like absolut & finlandia.
