Bought it today and installed the Software fine and the computer restarted.

Click in the Creative Media Explorer and it tells me that my player is not connected.............

..........The player, however, is connected and it's charging at this very moment.

This happened before with my Zen Micro and it turned out to be a Driver Problem and I'd say that's what the problem is here as well, however, I can't find the drivers on the Vision M's disc.

Are they renamed? Any help or links to drivers would greatly be appreciated.

    Cheers folks.

definitely a driver problem. when you plug it into the PC it should show "do not disconnect" (or something to that effect) on the player.. and a little pop-up asking if you want to organise your player will appear on your desktop for a moment (that's how it is with the zen sleek anyway, i'd say it's the same for all).

if you do a quick trawl on the creative website, you'll find drivers there

I have this problem with my zen everytime i install it on a new pc. Try going into device manager and update the driver for it with the cd in the pc.

That thing has MTP software on it, doesn't it?
Sometimes you need to install the windows driver for MTP devices.
I had this problem before with an MTP device on my PC.
Look in the device manager. You should see an entry for the Vision M with an exclamation mark (!) or an entry for 'unknown device'.
Double click this and choose driver - update driver.
Then choose the option for windows to install the software automatically.
    See if that helps.

I forgot to add that MTP devices don't come with drivers on the CD. Mine didn't. The whole idea of MTP is that the device should be automatically recognised and work with Windows XP. The only driver you might need is the Microsoft driver I mentioned above, which is built into windows.
