I recently began training with the Bujinkan Cambridge Dojo and am really enjoying the experience.

I will probably return home (Dublin) for a week in the Summer and would be interested in training at one of the Dublin Dojos. I know I should get a letter from my instructor and also contact the instructor of the dojo I intend to visit.

I know all dojo are different but my question is...can someone advise me on their experiences of the Dublin dojos and any particular dojo that stands out from the others for any reason?

Do you prefer the meehan dojo, the dwyer dojo etc and why?

Grateful for any replies and thank you.

Spent a little time in the original Bujinkan Brian Dojo off Mountjoy Square many years ago while working briefly in Dublin. Very good crowd.

Alex Meehan is excellent, would also highly recommend visiting his Dojo.

Also Ian Hickey in Artane - www.hickeydojo.com

Dont think you need a letter, either of the above would welcome you no probs (as I'm sure would the rest of the clubs)

    Hi r3nu4l. I PM'd you on this.

As far as I'm aware, no letter needed but simply your current membership card - no harm having a letter anyway. For a full list of clubs see www.bujinkan.ie.

(Non-students usually watch a class first before joining, Some dojo may be full, some may want you to do a beginners class, some will let you join in regardless).

Also Bujinkan Brian Dojo is not a member of the Bujinkan and hasn't been for 10 years. From my experience their martial art can be very good but I don't recomend them for studying Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.

Thanks for all the advice guys, good to hear some positives :) I will be sticking with instructors that are still training under sokes Hatsumi's guidance.
