It sounds like an excellent idea. I for one buy a lot of UK based magazines such as Classic Cars, Practical Classic, Car etc, but much prefer a quality magazine based on the Irish scene. As an Idea for your magazine is to feature younger cars and owners as well. I'm 29, I have a Rover P6 but my generation like audi quattro's 205 GTi etc, 2 cars I definately want. This age bracket have lots of deposable income and are now entering the market for both the cars and the magazines. If the magazine comes across as a bit "flat cap & tweed" think you may lose potential readers. By all means have the vintage and older classics, but don't forget your potential market for the next twenty years. Also get people like Alfarocks, Corktina and DSPrefrature on
boards.ie to write about their cars etc:o

    What's wrong with flat-caps & tweed ? Grrr...
And beards. What's a classic car magazine without beards ?

And will there be any Volvo 940s in there ? :D

    I'll ... get me coat.

Great Idea - the Irish classic owner has for too long depended on UK mags to get their info and sell their cars - its someting I think there will be a good market for.:)

Are you going to feature old trucks and buses in this mag. I ask this as I notice you say you'll be featuring tractors so obviously it's not just limited to cars.

A few examples of what I would like to see in the magazine -

    - Features on readers cars, vans, tractors, etc. ....e.g. readers restorations.
    Articles on :
    - The National Transport Museum in Howth
    - The (mad?!) bus collector down south (don't recall his name. he has a website. BrianD3 mentioned him before)
    - The Museum in Killarney
    - The Bord Na Mona machinery collection near Clara, Co Offaly.
    - The other museums around the country
    - Features on heavy plant machinery, e.g. the strange (and unique!) machinery used on Irish boglands, draglines, etc.
    - Classic car show reports
    - Listings of upcoming shows/events in Ireland

....and perhaps a classic car price guide (I know this could be a tricky one to put together!).

    Just a few thoughts.
Best of luck with the magazine. I await it with great interest !

    Silvera.
