    OMG SE IS BOCKS!:::

    jcustom13ko.jpg

What could be in this box?

I can't wait, lets crack it open and find out:

    jcustom25nv.jpg

    OMG, Ibanez case?

    What could be in it?

I can't wait, lets crack it open and find out:

    jcustom37fw.jpg

    AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

    NOOOO!!! DISASTER STRIKES!?!?!

Japanese guitar gremlins have eaten everything!?!!?

    Or have they?

    jcustom47cj.jpg

    AH-HAHAHA! Suckers! :D

    But what could it be?

It could be an Ibanez J Custom RG8270FBX!

    jcustom55mf.jpg

    Sweet!

    Just look at the inlay:

    jcustom77nq.jpg

And there you don't have it folks, because I have it and you don't and it's utter secks, possibly the best guitar in the world, and you don't got it, 'cos I got it, and they're not even making them any more so it's rare as ****, but fret not because I have it! Hahah!

    Here's the details:

    5 piece Wizard maple/walnut neck
    18mm 1st fret - 20mm 12th fret
    430mm Radius rosewood fretboard
Abalone and mirror J Custom vine inlay
    Rosewood headstock overlay
    43mm nut width
Jumbo frets finished to the highest standard
Mahogany body with 4mm flame maple top
    Edge Pro trem
    Direct mount p/u's
    Dimarzio Air Norton neck p/u
    Dimarzio Blue Velvet mid p/u
    Dimarzio Tone Zone bridge p/u
    Cosmo hardware

But what does all that mean? It means sex in guitar form, is what it means! Bwahahah!

That's almost as nice as my Jem ;-)

Seriously though, sweet. Very drool worthy, just keep the domokun away from the tree of life inlay and you'll be grand! Ibanez truly are the Porsche's of the Guitar World. Well wear with it.

Nice! But the only thing that really attracts me there is the maple/walnut neck. I LOVE maple walnut! :D

There's 6 pics. And be happy you got that many. I've not even tuned her up yet, so you should be happy that I've taken the time to post this much instead of spending time with the new baby. Be grateful!

Now, to fiddle with her innards! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

No, the box pics don't count! :p

    Do the gremlins count?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

God damn you're a tough negotiator. Ok, the gremlins count. :p

Right, go on and tune her up.

Then come back with more pics coz we're all spoiled rotten! You can't just leave your buddies drooling here.

I'm tuning her up as we speak, she's in my lap. I've never named a guitar before, but I think she deserves one. A Japanese one of course. Any suggestions?

Ishibashi were very nice chaps indeed and sent me out a replacement. :D

u put so much effort into that post, good work

nice guitar, ive one thing to say put some pickup rings on it, i hate the way ibanez does that, it makes it look like they jus drilled into the guitar the way u can see the gaps for the screws, but still nice  if i was a righty id defintly get a j custom, theyre so nice

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Well, she's all tuned up now, or relatively tune. Damn change of climate, I'll probably leave her down for 5 minutes and she'll be out of tune again, but oh well. A lot of fretbuzz at the moment, but I'm sure I'll sort that out easy enough, once everything is setup properly.

She's plugged into the good old cube at the moment, and ****! She sound astonishingly good! Thank you DiMarzio, who I am happily shilling for. :D

I've now 4 guitars that have the Air Norton in neck position.

Doc, you've been invited down to Galway for beers and guitars, and you've yet to take me up on the offer, so either put up or shut up. :p

I was speaking with someone today, who said that they knew someone who (well there's no real polite way to say this, so I'll just blurt it out, but if you're of a nervous disposition, this is you last chance to stop reading) rubbed his semen into his guitars. Apparently a guitar of his got stolen, and I'm not aware of the details of what happened, but his guitar was recovered or found, and they a DNA test proved it was his.

    Just throwing that out there.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

But you just play your guitars on the crapper so god only knows what you rub on them...

Don't be vulgar, fey. I keep very good care of my guitars. Besides, didn't Eddie Van Halen say he wrote his best music while on the toilet?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Well, he did get a Pod installed in his toilet wall...

Did he? That's news to me.

Anywho, I've got some work to do here. I found out what was troubling my RG1527 and I'll have to get that fixed, and I think I'll try and adjust the neck of Yume, she's got a bit of fret buzz that I don't really like.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Make sure you film messing with the truss rod...

Jaysus, this board has taken a serious turn for the worse ;)

Karl, FWIW my advice is leave the truss rod for a day or two till your new spunk repository has a chance to settle down to the temperature / humidity round at chez Hungus

Ok, I might indeed leave her to settle. Just, what does FWIW mean?

Just fixed the RG1527, seems the part where it was ground to the back of the volume pot came loose. Don't know how, but it's fixed now. Ah, the fun of having your own soldering iron. :)

    Ah, excellent.

Now all I need is a huge rackmount rig, with a Triaxis or something and my life will be complete. Oh, and those lessons from Giblet too.

OT but did you here the ENGL comparisons on engl-amps.co.uk? Turned me off of marshall (DSL100) & Mesa (triaxis, Recto Road King) all at once.

Yes I did, but I really only trust something I play, clips don't do anything for me. Anyway, the Triaxis just popped into my head as something heavily expensive. Still, it would be nice to have if you were ever to get some extravagant rig.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

And an E670 cost more than a triaxis plus a power amp off of ebay. I would never ever drop €3k+ on an amp though

If I had €3k, and I liked the amp, I wouldn't think twice about it. Still, the Fireball is what I have the hots for, and that's much more affordable.

    You stuck on Yume already?
How about Mariko (Lady Toda Buntaro), the secret princess lover of John Blackthorne in "Shogun"?

She was Japanese, he was European, it fits! :)
