Boards.ie Ladder team for eh ladder

Fairy has asked for signups for a ladder so boards will possibly put in a team.
Its anything goes so no inf rules but it brings up a simple fact: entering a ladder requires effort and commited players (ie a clan) boards is not clan.
Should we register a team we would practically be a clan.


Its 8 v 8 so we woultn get the flexibility we got in the Inf league (ie "hang on we short 5") Assuming the Inf players showed up we would have 10

Throw in Celt and Beatfreak and **** me if organised we would own them clan gits.They would be the most commited afaik the * players havent missed a match. This is open to any one on boards.ie anyone once registered and even registered and banned

Again this would require commitment and effort as ladders aint as much fun as a fun league.

If Boards went ahead with it there should be a system whereby only they would challange a team and not a team challange them , this way ye would know ye had a team available .

I signed up as a can't make it every week because I've exams coming up next month - so I'm not sure how much commitment I'll be able to put in until they're over.

If this does happen I'd want to have practice and tactics + voice comms for everyone, etc..

That would be the only rule other than being a boards member, COMMS are essential. I will also ask for a private clan forum should this work out that we enter a team.

I wouldn't mind joining up for a few games. I cant say initially how much commitment I can give as I am currently moving in to a new apartment with no broadband as of yet. Also not sure how good I would be in comparision to some of you, for the last 2 months I've only been playing once a week, when I went back home for the weekend.

On saying all that I will soon be fully up and running and available to play every week night. Haven't played in a team before either (really selling myself here!) but I could be a sub or something...or a sub for a sub.

Also I would recommend we have a surplus amount of players to choose from, might as well make a decent sized squad.

Another thing crossed my mind, maybe I'm going TOO far into this but I do think it'd be good to have players who are adapted to a certian class/classes, maximise our abilities, as with Zill0r there, decent sniper and chopper pilot, me, assault or medic etc...

What do ya think? A bit too much?

I am now training every tuesday & thursday and quite possibly wednesday but i could be dropping that like a hot snot if tuesdays and thursdays tire me out.

I also have to fix my gfx card and if that all comes together, I am defo in as long as there is practice and comms.

Seriously we need to have squads that play the same rolls so everyone knows exactly what they are doing in every situation

Would there be choppers?

By that I mean would we be playing 16 or 32 man maps? With only 8 people a side I'd hope that we wouldn't be playing 32 man maps.

i would assume it would all be the 16player maps, and aye some of them have choppers.

hmmm yes, I'd like to rain death on em with my F2000 or that second medic unlock, ph33r m3h etc etc. We do need to start training mind, can't do the rambo thing anymore.

Dunno if this thread is still relevant, since Fairy has 'knocked it on its head' for now, but put meself down all the same and willing to commit Sunday nights.

Specialities will be sniper/spec ops/engineer for kits and any wheeled contraption for vehicles, with particular skill in tanks (snipers make good tankers, re. long-range target-leading/aiming & deflection ).

We can always set up impromptu matches for Sunday nights. Not sure about this Sunday night but we might be able to do a few maps with vehicles in etc.
