I was planning on getting that, syncing it up to my GT-8 via midi and running some headphones to the drummer so we're all synced up with the various bpm affected effects on the unit. Anyone ever do something like this? Sound like a sound plan?

I've seen some drummers use metronomes through headphones, which is a good idea, if the rest of the band can keep in time. You can keep in time, can't you Giblet?

With the best of them, it's not about me anyway. It's very difficult for a drummer to decipher the timing from some tremolo pulses, so using the master bpm to control the effects and the external sync for the metronome is handy :)

We could have some preprogrammed samples too hehe.

Well then go for. Sounds like a good idea.

Balls, the GT-8 will only recieve an external sync, it can't set the bpm of that metronome, only recieve it. That metronome can't send a sync signal though. GRRRR. I need to find one that does :(

I'll probably have to find some cheap keyboard to do it.

Yay found a cheapish drum machine that would work fine :)

You want to control the tremolo etc. rate by midi, run an old drum machine into the GT8 midi in to set the tap tempo so to speak.

Yeah that was the plan. Using a laptop for that now with Cubase as the master. Can run samples as well :)

Well then whats the problem?! Laptop far more versatile. BTW does the GT8 tap tempo properly from a cubase midi pulse?

The problem was I didn't have anything and was seeing if anyone had done something with the GT-8 before ;) I was talking to a friend who has a laptop with a midi out. You can set the master BPM using the laptop and cubase.
