Fontwell 3.00 Tora Bora I have being waiting for this horse to run again. It had an impressive victory last time out at 11/2 if my memory serves me right. It was the only winner I had on that particular day and it saved my bacon. Today it is being stepped up in distance but with the way it looked last time out, this extra furlong shouldn't matter at all. This animal has already proved that it can perform on soft and good ground, so today's going is not an issue. It's currently trading at 11/2 and that is superb value IMO.

Fontwell 2.30 The Local has burnt my pockets in the past but I'm going to forgive it's last run due to the ground. I think A.P can give it the extra bit required today to beat these. Lord On The Run is too short for me, considering it's flaky performances. The Local can win this. Currently trading at 10/3.

Fontwell 2.00 Tech Eagle should win the 2pm race. I have narrowed it down between Tech Eagle and Lysander, however after seeing Lysander's last race, it hit the third last and second last quite hard, and the trainer seems to think it needs softer ground today. This has made me side for Tech Eagle, currently trading at 2s.

No money on so far today but would have done Herakles as Adrian Massey's system has him at 30 points better off than the 2nd best:

Wakeup Smiling looks good in the 3.30 so. :)

    Easy win for Mr Boo.

2/3 ain't bad I guess. Tora Bora was very disappointing, faded from two out. McCoy's ride on The Local was beautiful.

Well its good to see good tips. Il be keeping an eye long term to see if hes worth following but great tips today. There is no point giving tips under 2/1 if you dont have inside info I think cause your profits are wiped quickly with a few losers so its nice to see decent priced winners:)

I'm not trying to be smart but why don't you look at my record on here to see if I'm worth following? I've no idea what my strike rate is, I'd say it probably stinks over the last 7 months or so. But I know it is pretty decent from Feb '05 - Sept '05, and we're into that season again.

As for your 2/1 or under comment, I know for a fact that you lay horses on betfair. Is this not doing exactly that? Finn, lets say I tip 7 horses less than 2/1, and 5 of them win, is that not worth doing? I'm asking you because I tipped 7 horses sometime last year in my system, and 5 of them won. I would have to check out the exact prices, maybe some were infact greater than 2/1.

sjones, I don't like searching through threads and keeping a record, it would be nice to see all your selections in 1 thread like Vindon. Everyone can log onto Vindon'ds selections and see his past selections. It would also be good if you could post the results of previous tips every time you post a new tip and keep a running total. No matter how much anyone knows about horse racing its always worth following a reliable tipster if hes free.

My rule is: Lay under 2/1, back over 2/1. I break the rule on occasion myself but I have done very deep analysis of this. I have yet to meet any tipster that can make long term profit from tipping under 2/1 shots. As a tipster myself I keep a very close eye on my competitors. Not 1 of them can make long term consistent profit from backing under 2/1 shots - NOT ONE. I seen a tipster (Computer form for example) go more than 10 winners in a row but then he wiped himself out with a string of losing runs. If you are backing under 2/1 keep a record, I think you will see where Im coming from.

Also, been selective and having patience is what its all about. As we all know you cannot bet every day and expect to make a profit. Its simply impossible over a period of say 2 years. Wait for the sure bets to come along.

Well done today again and I would like to see yourself, iloveireland and The Jock form a thread with your selective tips - your MAX BET tips. Now, that would be worth following;)

    I dont know finn....

In some posts you state that you are making a packet from horse racing, you do a lot of analysis etc etc. Also, you state that you are a 'tipster' (I presume this means you run a phone/e-mail service)

    THEN,

    I read this:
It seems to me that the moderators on the Horse Racing forum don't want me on because I am showing them up despite the fact that Im a novice at the sport

No offence mate, I love getting a good tip, but why are you running a tipping line if you are a novice at the sport

I think one would want to be CRAZY to follow tips from a horse racing novice, to be honest.

Nice calls there Sjones, figured Lysander would hav edoen the business, is a good horse.

Tora Bora- was on, seems to run a good race every second race, made all the running tracking leaders and faded very badly last 2/3 furlongs(timmy eased him off seeing he hadnt got it) seemed to struggle with that distance? Should have run a stronger race.

+also had Mr Boo & Beechmount<< who looks a classy individual, if a bit unable to steer a straght course.

Thanks a million mate. I think you're spot on, the extra distance did the damage. The track started out as good but by the time Tora Bora ran it was definately soft ground. Timmy did the right thing with easing off it, it completely died towards the end. I expected alot more from the horse, but it was definately well beaten today. I will be careful backing it again. I didn't think the extra distance or the ground would bother it at all, but it obviously did.

To be honest man I couldn't decide between Lysander and Tech Eagle until I heard Lysander's trainer talking on ATR. I was siding with Lysander up until that point. He really felt that it needed softer ground and that it might not be back to proper order after it's jumping last time out. When Lysander hit the front I thought "what have I done", but Tech Eagle wasn't too long in picking it up and winning nicely in the end.
