Philips HD for 360

Tried hooking up my 360 for HD but ran into a few problems.

The DVI lead I got with my tv doesn't seem to fit into the back of the tv I think I need some adaptor and also that lead has input cables as does the cable for the 360 so I'm guessing I need some 2-way adaptor for that.
Excuse the lack of detail but I'm in work and forget all the specific names for the cables.
I'll be going into peats or symths today to get the two bits of equipment but in the meantime if anyone here has a similar setup with a Philips tv could they tell me how they got around it.
The Philips is an LCD 32' Philips not sure of the specific model but it has HD.

Did you buy the core or premium 360? If you bought the core you will need to buy a component cable for the 360 (this comes standard with the Premium).

The 360 doesn't output to DVI btw.

Can you not get an adaptor doofer that would do the job?

Yeah I have the premium pack so have component cable.

I'm pretty much a donk when it comes to all these gadgets could you expand on this. I remember reading that I need some sort of AVI (not sure about lettering but does begin with an A) adapter or something.

Could you expand on this please I'm not sure what you mean by doofer.
    I'll goggle it though.

This the cable you are talking about? http://media.teamxbox.com/dailyposts/xbox360/faq/vga.jpg

If you have to component cables why are you using a different cable to try and get HD?

Ok I know I'm lacking vital detail like names of cables and such and shouldn't have posted here without it but I thought someone here might have gone through a similar problem.

Thats the one but it has 3 leads blue-green-red . Thats the one that came with my tv and the bloody thing doesn't fit in at the back.

Maybe I dont need this cable at all will the component cable be enough all I need then is some sort of adaptor with one end taking in the inputs from the component cable.
I don't have blue-green-red plugs in the back of my tv thats why I'm guessing I need an adaptor.

perhaps you should post what model tv you have. the red, green, blue ports are component and then red/white for audio. if your tv doesnt have this then it must atleast have vga or dvi (as you said it was hd) so you will need that other cable that was posted eariler, if its vga then just connect the cable to the 360 and tv and off you go or if its dvi then you will need a vga-dvi adapter for the cable also. either that or it has hdmi

I have the same setup with my Philips Tv please see my previous post with pictures

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=50574444&postcount=26

Basically I bought a €6 Phono to Phono connector in Maplins so i could connect the Xbox Lead and Philips lead together.

After re-reading my own post just on the picture quality I've gone back to using 720P rather than 1080i setting, because in Burnout when the screen flashes white the TV resets and takes about a 1.5 seconds for the picture to re-appear.

Also I turned off Sharpening in the TV's menu for the HD input as it was making the image have a lot more jaggies.

    That looks spot on Furp.
I got the same DVI to Component Lead with my tv but when I tried hooking it up to the back of the tv it wouldn't fit. It was early this morning so I'll give it another shot today. If that works then all I'd need is that Phono to Phono connector.
I was just a having a glance online and found http://www.svideo.com/hdtvaiwr8500.html.
I'd say either one will work so cheers Furp I'll let you know how I get on.
