I have a friend who is interested in setting up a jewelry/accessory shop and would greatly appreciate some info on the setup of things. So after finding a place to rent what other additional things must be setup in order for the shop to proceed? And what other additonal costs would be expected besides the rent ie.taxes etc.? Thanks in advance!

Key money to acquire the lease
    Accountancy costs in setup
    Legal Costs
    Shop Fit out
Advertising - Generally and for staff
    Insurance (Inc Public Liabilty)
    Lighting, Heating
    Stock
    Working Capital
    EPOS - Till System

    Thats for a start
Bear in mind that larger accessory /jewellery shops like Claires accessory's and H Samuel ect. have large buying power so would get large discounts from suppliers and shopping centres are more inclined to give space to established retailers it so it wont be easy

PM me if you need any more with cash flow statments or projections or whatever!

    Good Luck with it!
