    Hi all

by Friday, I will have one reasonably expensive Martin Acoustic, and one Mega-Expensive McIlroy A35c Acoustic!!
Now, the Mrs is on my back about space!!! (I also have an old Marlin acoustic which was my fist guitar bought by my parents for me back in 1987!!, so I want to also keep that out for sentimental value!!)! I also plan to buy an electric in the next year or so!!

So, which is better for my guitar, regardless of what me missus says about space!?? Wall mounted, or a stand????

    Thanks all
    Edja

    I'd go for stand.

Whatever people say about wall mounted, I just don't feel comfortable having a guitar hanging by the headstock.

I've heard stories about intonation getting knocked out by prolonged wall hanging, as if the neck stretched or something crazy like that!

    Two words: Scarf Joint.

Keep the McIlroy in it's case when not in use, tbh. It's way too precious to be left exposed to harm.

    We'll need pics, btw ;)

Hey ed. So you're finally picking up the McIlroy. Lucky git. lol. I've gone for a new electric setup for the moment. Will probably order mine after the summer. Let us know what you think. What pickup did you end up going for btw?

    I don't think hanging a 9lb Les Paul would be a good idea :S

Thanks lads, the wife will have to put up with a stand so.

Karl, explain to me about the Scarf Joint? Need as much ammo as possible with the wife!! She's only going to throw the fact that "the guitar shops hang their guitars on the wall, why can't you!!!???".....women!

Gstorm, yeah, can't wait!! Been 9 months since I ordered it..... could have had a baby in that time.....I went with the Fishman Natural in the end on Dermots advice. If I want to change it later, then its not a huge issue!

Scarf joint is the joint between the headstock and the neck, usually on guitars with an angled headstock.

Yeah, because someone else does it, it must be correct!

Try that line rather sarcastically with the missus.
