I like the first one, the second pic has an aweful lot of cloud in it though :) Nice colors... what kind of shuttertime were you using for these?

    thanks Dimy

first one was 1/10th at iso 400 second was 1/60th at same iso, both at the wide end of the d70 kit 18-70mm at f 3.5, It was pretty dark. Spot metered on highlights and locked exposure. I just grabbed the camera really. If I had thought about it i would have brought a faster lens.....and tripod i suppose.

I'm not crazy about the 18-70 kit lens to be honest. :(

another - I had my back to this guy as he cycled through, so didnt really have time to get him properly.

I'd much prefer that one to the first two!

So much more character and follows the rule of thirds 100%. The red jacket and yellow poles give a lot of contrast against the blue tones everywhere else.

Tried taking pictures of it myself with the crappy cameraphone....these really capture it though - very menacing wasn't it!! Great photos I think...

The shot of the guy on the bike is great. I like the second one more than the first because the clouds are overpowering.

Where's the guy cycling to?

Oh that last pic with the guy on the bike is very good indeed, best out of three! Wish I had spot-metering on my 350D... my "sky" shots always seem to be burned out.

    thanks for the comments everyone.

    Where's the guy cycling to?

I asked myself the same question - it was FREEZING. Think he had a tinny or two with him.
