I was told that around this time a new batch of tickets would be released,so I decide I'd wait for them instead of paying over the odds for one.so what's the story with this extra batch are they coming or what

10,000 more oxegen tickets were release at 10am this morning but they sold out in minus 4 seconds. Thats the last batch or so I overheard on a number 11 bus this morning. You cant argue with evidence like that.

As you should well know no one can say for definite that there will be tickets released but going by previous years and knowing MCD in general I (and many other people) guess that there will be a batch released but if this happens, there will be a very limited amount and they will sell out in no time.

Question: has it ever actually happened before that MCD have released a second batch of tickets for oxegen or is this just people predicting?

It's happened every year. From what I can remember at least.

yes it has happened in previous years, and it will happen this year, and there'll probably be no warning. there'll definitely be a ticket release for returns and cancellations. it's too hard to say when as oxegen has never sold out this early before.
there very well could be another ticket release as they've done it for the last 2 years after it apparently "sold out".

just like they did the other day with radiohead tickets , and they were onsale for 2 whole days after they apparently sold out according to ticketmaster....

I thought it was quite odd when MCD advised people not to purchase Oxegen tickets from touts at higher prices following the sell out. Perhaps the underlying message is that a second batch of tickets will be available in due course.

Also thought it was strange how single day tickets were gone on the first day of sale...

There have been other batches but the numbers were miniscule. Like a thousand or so.

Also there was never presales as early (the week after oxegen 2005) as this time around so there is no way of saying for sure it will happen again.

Regardless even if it does happen only a very small percentage of punters will come away happy. Its not a magic bullet that will give everyone or even the majority tickets. Not to mention theres gonna be a good few people snapping them up to tout them again.

If all else fails go and pay face value to a security guard for a wrist band

well if no new acts are added (especially to the Saturday lineup) i'm gonna flog my ticket because theres nothing exciting me at all there at the moment! So keep in touch :)

there'll definitely be a ticket release for returns and cancellations. .
You can't return of cancel tickets (normal punters anyway), usually those extras are due to stolen credit cards and other scams. But batches are kept back on purpose too.

Somebody give this 12-year old a ticket, or else he doesn't want to play anymore. Please don't leave the boards, all of the thousands of members will really miss your self-centred whining ass.
