PERUSERS of the personal ads in a Catholic freesheet got more than they bargained for - an invitation to join a lesbian relationship, writes Breda Heffernan.
Tucked away amid advertisements for pilgrimages to Fatima and Medjugorje, one prankster managed to slip past the censor.
"Single Catholic lady, 38, seeks female companionship for fun trip to Lesbania. Box 2201."
The ad raised a few eyebrows among 'Alive' newspaper's legions of loyal readers and seems to be at odds with the general ethos of the publishers.
The monthly freesheet, which can be found in church porches the length and breadth of the country, styles itself "the newspaper for all the family".
