Two Dishes

 I have been using a 60cm dish for the last year or so to watch Astra 28e. I have recently been given a 120 cm dish (with universal lnb). I was going to try to use the 120 with a motor but have decided to try to use both dishes in a fixed position instead. i got the original (with instructions) by post from satellite ie and have had no problem with installing etc however I think that i may be in a little over my head when it comes to connecting two dishes to the one reciever. ANY help or directions would be really appreciated (do I need two seperate rj6 cables etc). keep in mind that I know very little about satellite but am more than able to mount a bracket and install the dishes.

If you mount a Diseqc switch near the 2 dishes, then you need just 1 long cable to serve the receiver, and 2 short cables running to the LNBFs.

If you connect the 60cm to port one, then when you setup Astra 28E on the receiver, select Diseqc one and then scan. If the 120cm is connected to port two, then when you want to setup Hispasat 30W, for example, select Diseqc two in the receiver and then scan.

If the receiver you are using had diseq capability then all you need two is connect both LNB's to a two way diseq switch and configure your receiver to select the correct dish for the satellite you wish to view.Use Ct100 not rg6 cable.

Diseqc switch or motor won't work with a Digibox of course.

Get a four ways Disqec switch as it is not much more and allows for expansion. You can easily have 3 to 4 LNBs on one 1.2m dish.
