This situation keeps arising just wondering how you guys play it.....
party 1/2 6 max. relevant stack sizes 100BB
Your in the blinds and a loose player (VPIP 40, PFR 15) raises to $8 from CO or Button.
You call with a PP, say 33-77
    The flop comes
    T 9 2, or something like ragragrag.
    Do you
    1. Check and give up
    2. Lead into him for 3/4 pot
3 Stop and go ..ie. check call and lead turn.
    4. check raise.

I ask because I reckon at 100BB calling 4/5BB raise OOP against one average opponent is -EV if you are merely looking to hit set ......

What is his Post Flop Aggression factor and his propensity to Continuation Bet, should be on your PAHUD display. Will help with this decision...

    Hey Ste0,
The situation arises against a wide variety of villains, tall, short, moustached & bespectacled. I now there's many a variable in the Question...

I am using gametime+ but will be getting AceHud over weekend hopefully.

Play how you feel comfortable, im not a huge fan of these PP's personally and I prefer to play very weak passive with them.

    An example..

Fitz cash game hand, I raise blind UTG to 7, UTG+1 re-raises blind (tell me about it) to 14, this gets 4 callers, I look down at 66.....

I thought about potting it but I just don't feel comfortable playing these hands in cash, tourney is a different matter altogether.

The flop came J77, which I would have potted had I done it preflop, this can be very risky and costly business....

I checked as did everyone else, the turn was a K and UTG+2 was holding AK, I flat called pre-flop, it would have been interesting had I potted it, AK would certainly have called.

I think it's better to lose 14 Eur, than loose a sizeable portion of my stack if AK decides to re-pot my flop bet......

From past experiences of over playing these small pp's I tend to limp, check fold on missed flops, yes it's weak but you know exactly where you stand :)

p.s, please don't post replies telling me how weak this play is, I know how weak it is and said so myself....fact is playing is this manner im comfortable with, which is what's important for me and my game

LOL, very true. I assumed this was a hypothetical situation.
I tend to find that there's basically 2 or 3 types of post flop player,
    1. greater than 60% cont. bettor
    2. less than 60% cont. bettor
And my play would vary for each.

    1. I might check raise or check call.
    2. I'll probably lead out, or if they're on the high end I might check raise. Although I might check and lead turn. But as you say alot of it depends on their facial hair, etc. etc. ;)

Good topic and hopefully we'll get some interesting thoughts..

Ye it's much better TBH, just spend a little time to set it up properly..
