ever since i can remember, from the age of 5/6, i have been having a dream, not regularly but it is always the same.

im walking through a massive coal yard, there's coal stacked up all around me with white lights on top of very tall poles.

the coal around me is glistening as if damp and im cold.

i dont feel lost but theres a heaviness with me, im afraid but of what i dont know? i feel a panic growing as if i need to run, to get away

i dont ever recall an ending to the dream, an outcome

    any ideas at all?

at the age of 31 im still having it, last time being about 6-8 weeks ago

It doesnt strike me as a paranormal or psychic dream. The obvious interpretation for me would be you are feeling down, opressed or trapped in your life. If your life is a bit like that it would make sense to me, but if you are upbeat and doin great, then this would maybe reflect something deeper and more hidden in you. Thats my amateur psychology, maybe someone else can input more.:)

Like Katie, this sounds more psychological to me, not sure why just going with my first instinct. This means the key to figuring the dream out, as you probably already know, is understanding what coal means to you. I'd suggest the best way to start is by making a list of reasons you think coal could end up meaning something to you, like knowing someone who worked with coal, or having fallen on some coal when you were young. Be objective and include things even if you don't think they apply to you. Then pick whatever on the list appeals to you most and try and work from there.

You could probably benefit from learning more about the dream itself. The easiest way to better remember your dreams is to not move when you wake up. Just lie still few a few minutes thinking about all the details of the dream, then get up and right them down straight away. You could also consider learning some astral travelling techniques, at www.mysticweb.org for example, which will allow you to 'wake up' inside your dream and conciously control it.

Okay can anyone help me with my recurring dream?

It's not so much the same dream but the same thing always happens in it. I always lose a tooth? Any signifigance in that?

Oh and another thing that used to happen in alot of my dreams is, I would be attacked by a dog and it would bite my forearm. Though I haven't dreamt that one in ages.

Sorry, should have mentioned it in my post. I've never been bitten by a dog, I actually love them and pet any dog I see etc. Though you might be on to something on the losing a tooth thing.

Are you sure you've never been bitten by a dog? Ask your parents.

    cheers to you and katie

ive had a long and hard think, had a chat with my parents etc... and found nothing in my past to suggest a link to coal whatsoever, ive tried thinking of music / tv / films that may have had an influence but nothing whatsoever - which i find slightly unnerving to say the least

its interesting what you say about controlling dreams as i seem to do that anyway. id go as far as saying that the original detail i gave about the recurring dream is the only one i can ever remember not having any control over........ strange that it was only after you mentioning this that on further reflection that there is that control.

my other half on discussing with her said only this

"the only weird thing you do is control other peoples emotions, if your in a good mood people around you will be, but when your in a bad (she used the word foul!) mood you can change and then control the whole mood in a room! if you can do that then i wouldnt worry about your dreams:confused: "

    thankyou darling i says!

Dont think literally. Coal could signify your black (foul;) ) mood overwhelming you, Theres bright light up high, but you cant get there, as in you cant get out of your mood....?

Your missus sounds like a straighttalker :D

This dream and the one of being naked in public are really common! There are sooo many interpretations, from fear of embarrassment, to needing change in your life. Id suggest a google for a dream dictionary.

OP,language is also very important in dreams. For example,I had a dream a long time ago about an ex boyfriend and in it he went missing and everyone was trying to find him. I woke up and it took me only a few minutes to realise that it was about the fact that I'd lost him.

It's a simple example but think about words in dreams. Coal is fuel right? So what is this coal fueling? A fire perhaps? Anger? Maybe it's there to try to heat you up so that you aren't so cold. Emotionally perhaps.

I don't know but coal could even be someone's last name.

I just looked up coal in the dream dictionary. I wouldn't exactly take it for gospel but apparently coal can symbolize unused potential.
