Its made by the same people as Rise of Nations , and the current release date is set for may (I think), but the demo is out and Im wondering if anyone has tried it yet, website is here:

First off, I thought Rise of Nations blew, awful awful game imo, utterly uninspiring and flawed RTS. However, after playing a good few games of RoL, Im really liking it, its similar to RoN, but far more polished and in a far more interesting setting, the 2 factions in the demo (3 in the full game) are very different to play as, and have entirely unique unit sets aswell as working differently from both a resource and research stand point. I have high hopes for the full version of this, definately think it will be worth getting.

Thought RON was decent, liked the world map bit. ROL better be good, it seems to have been delayed enough times.

I so loved RoN. Have ordered this game on play all ready. Said it lots of times most people dont like RoN and others just love it. If we were all the same we be some bore all together. Im big into my strategy's and i cant wait for this game to come my way.

so i got the demo, and after a few false starts i got it to work and I'm impressed. Fairly inuitive to pick up and play while also being involving over the longer term i'd think. I'll prob make this a purchase in a few weeks

Actually, I think RoN was probably the best game ever made! At least you don't have to patch it 3+ times like Rome:Total War. Anyway, I just bought RoL, and played for half an hour - seems pretty cool though. Have to spend a little time getting to know it. :)
