    From the backstreets website...
Bruce Springsteen has announced European concert dates in conjunction with the release of 'We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions.' These concerts will feature music from the new CD. There are ten shows, commencing May 5 in Dublin, Ireland, and extending through May 21 in Stockholm, Sweden. These shows follow the performing debut of Bruce Springsteen with The Seeger Sessions Band at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on April 30. Each night, an all new evening of gospel, folk, and blues will be presented by Springsteen with his 17-member Seeger Sessions Band.

No word on when tickets are being released.

Hopefully the ticket gods will be smiling on me for this one.

"gospel, folk, and blues" - dunno if I like the sound of this.. do you reckon he'll be playing his older stuff aswell ?

He'll be playing some older stuff, but the majority will be from the Seeger sessions cd. It wil have a very, very country feel to it. From the soundchecks, he has rehearsed the folllowing 'older' ones :

    Jesus Was an Only Son.
    If I Should Fall Behind.
    Adam Raised a Cain
    Ramrod.
    Johnny 99
    Further On Up The Road.
    Open All Night

I just hope that fans get the tickets this time around, unlike The Devils & Dust show where the tickets were on ebay about an hour later for about €300 a ticket.

During the Devils and Dust tour he played acoustic versions of some old songs. Mainly stuff from the Rising, but older stuff, too. But, I guess D&D an album of original work, so who knows?

A few hits are bound to be there..... who care's its THE BOSS!!! The RDS gig in May 2003 is still the best Ive ever been to and believe me, thats saying something.... (bit of a fan)

Would not expect any "hits", but certainly some older material that can be played in a country/bluegrass style and that fits in with the folk theme of Pete Seegers music. So stuff from Nebraska/Tom Joad and maybe some D&D.
The days of Bruce singing Born to Run/Thunder Road/Born in the USA at every show are well over.

If you don't like bluegrass/old style country music then this may not be the gig to go to. See clip of Henry Boy on amazon.com for a taste of what to expect. The new album is based around the music of Pete Seeger.

From what I saw last year at the D&D show last year a lot of people were not expecting the type of show that Bruce put on and hence spent their time chatting/texting and walking in/out of the arena looking for a beer and then realised the bar was shut. The same went for the Ghost of Tom Joad Tour.
In the meantime a lot of Bruce fans who would have liked the show were outside with no tickets.
That said, it will be a great show no matter what he plays, as his ability to connect with an audience is second to none.

The last Point show was excellent..... the are very, very few performers who could hold a sell out crowd in the palm of their hands for 2 1/2 hours like he did.... Im looking forward to this (as though you hadnt guessed).

Feckin expensive tickets, tho.... 85 & 75 Euro apparently.... :(

Is there any point calling to one of the agents around the country or is your best chance of getting a ticket to sit on the computer and open as many windows as possible. Had no luck getting tickets for the last tour doing this. Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Please post reply or email me. I see tickets are for sale on ebay already and they haven't even been released!!!
Makes you wonder about distribution etc.............
