Is it trolling to adopt an aggressive version of what you really think?
Is it trolling to argue in a manner that trips up other users.

Is my sig trolling, for example, or is it merely stupid.

    A: Merely stupid.

Trolling is 'setting out for'/deliberately provoking an arguement (Usually just for the sake of arguing). Being aggressive is different, but not considerably more tolerable. See: Rozie.

"Is it trolling to argue in a manner that trips up other users. " - That's arguing.... It's when it gets petty that it gets annoying and pathetic. You'll know when you've reached this stage as your post contains more [ quote ] than anything else. :)

    Your sig is hilariously stupid.

As for trolling with your genuinely held opinions. If I espouse my pro-choice views somewhere it is on topic, that's not trolling. If I sign-up to a mailing list run by Life just to espouse the same views, knowing that it's a mailing list explicitly intended for people with the opposite views, then I'd be trolling.
